Under the leadership of former player Le Huynh Duc, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club is currently actively preparing for the 2025 - 2026 season.

Ho Chi Minh City Police Club was officially established in 1979. In the 90s of the last century, along with Saigon Port, Customs, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club were the three big names and rich traditions of football in the city named after Uncle Ho. During its golden age, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club won many noble titles, notably the national championship in 1995, and second place in the 1993-1994, 1996, 1999-2000 and 2001-2002 seasons.

Former striker Le Huynh Duc was a symbol of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club, with 60 goals in the national A1 tournament, until becoming part of the golden generation of Vietnamese football from 1996 to 2002.

Coach Huynh Duc leads Ho Chi Minh City Police Club to play in V-League

In July 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee transferred the Ho Chi Minh City Club, which is competing in the national football championship (V-League), to the Ho Chi Minh City Police and changed its name to the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club. To prepare for the 2025-2026 season, former player Le Huynh Duc, an "old man" of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club, was invited to take the captain's seat with assistants Phung Thanh Phuong, Hoang Hung and Chau Tri Cuong.

Regarding the squad, the players with good skills from the former Ho Chi Minh City Club were retained. Notable among them are goalkeeper Patrick Le Giang, midfielder Endrick, center back Tran Hoang Phuc, midfielder Nguyen Thai Quoc Cuong, Vo Huy Toan... To thicken the squad, the coaching staff of Ho Chi Minh City Police Club recruited more faces such as Vietnam Golden Ball 2024 Nguyen Tien Linh, midfielder Pham Duc Huy (transferred from Binh Dinh Club), Dang Van Lam (transferred from Quang Nam Club), midfielder Pham Van Luan (transferred from Hanoi Police Club), midfielder Nguyen Duc Phu (transferred from PVF-CAND Club), defender Le Quang Hung (transferred from Da Nang Club)...

After a long time with Binh Duong Club (now Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club), Nguyen Tien Linh joined Ho Chi Minh City Police Club to compete from the 2025 - 2026 season.
