Van Ly Bridge and the approach road started construction on September 16, 2023. The project has a total length of 7.78km, including Van Ly Bridge and 2 approach roads. Branch N1 is 3.65km long with its starting point at the end of DT610B (Dien Quang commune, Dien Ban) across the west bank of Van Ly Bridge, turning left to the west to the intersection between DT609B and DT609C (New Quang Hue intersection, Dai Hoa commune, Dai Loc). Through Dien Hong commune (Dien Ban), branch N2 starts from the intersection with branch N1, turns north to the intersection between DT609 and DT605 (Cam Ly intersection) with a length of 4.13km.

The approach road section is 9m wide; of which the road surface and reinforced shoulder are 8m wide; the road surface structure is asphalt concrete. Construction of a lighting system along the route. Van Ly Bridge across Thu Bon River is 460m long and has a permanent scale (the project's lifespan is 100 years). The bridge is 9m wide (the roadway is 8m wide; the barriers and railings on each side are 0.5m wide); Thu Bon River navigation clearance level IV, 30m wide and 6m high.
The Van Ly bridge project connecting the three communes of Dien Quang, Dien Hong and Dai Hoa officially began construction in October 2023. Initially, the construction of pier M2 (Dien Hong commune bank) could not be carried out due to the agricultural land of the people without a compensation and support plan. The contractor, Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company, had to rent land to have a site for the girder casting yard, install the girders, and bring concrete pouring vehicles to cast the guardrail.

To date, the contractor has completed the rough construction of the lower and upper sections. Notably, the bridge span has a continuous cantilever section of 250m long, firmly connected through pillars T2, T3, T4. On the bridge, workers are polishing the edges of the barriers and installing some remaining railing sections.

Engineer Dao Hong Ngoc - Technical Officer of Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company shared that the total construction value of Van Ly Bridge alone is about 152 billion VND. At this time, the contractor has achieved a volume value of 151.2 billion VND. Engineer Ngoc added that in the coming time, the unit will focus on completing some remaining sub-items of the bridge, installing lighting. If there is a construction site for the west bank approach road, the contractor will proceed to asphalt the bridge surface.

The project's chief supervisor, engineer Bui Huy Phu - an officer of the Road Engineering Center 3, said that the construction time of the Van Ly bridge project and the approach road will end in March 2026. According to the set schedule, the project must be completed before September 2025 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2 and the 23rd Quang Nam Provincial Party Congress (term 2025 - 2030).

According to engineer Phu, the implementation of the Van Ly bridge project has met the schedule and ensured quality. The most worrying issue is the construction of the two approach roads, as only the Dien Quang commune bank section of the Go Noi area has been completed and the entire site has been handed over to the investor and contractor. The N2 approach road, consisting of three overpasses, located within the agricultural land area through Dien Hong commune, still has no site for construction.
The total approved investment of Van Ly Bridge and the approach road is 575 billion VND. Of which, the central budget is 420 billion VND; the provincial budget is 155 billion VND. The total construction value of the entire project according to the contract is 467.13 billion VND; of which the construction value of the approach road alone (including the viaduct) accounts for 267.05 billion VND. When completed, the project will be seamlessly connected to the following traffic routes: DT610B, National Highway 1 to the east (Duy Xuyen); National Highway 14H to the south (Duy Xuyen); DT609, DT605, Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway to the north (Dien Ban); DT609B and Giao Thuy Bridge, DT609C, National Highway 14B to the west (Dai Loc).
