The Van Ly Bridge and access roads commenced construction on September 16, 2023. The project has a total length of 7.78 km, including the Van Ly Bridge and two access road branches. Branch N1 is 3.65 km long, starting at the end of the DT610B route (Dien Quang commune, Dien Ban district), crossing the western bank of the Van Ly Bridge, turning left west to the intersection of DT609B and DT609C (the new Quang Hue intersection, Dai Hoa commune, Dai Loc district). Passing through Dien Hong commune (Dien Ban district), branch N2 starts from the intersection with branch N1, turning north to the intersection of DT609 and DT605 (Cam Ly intersection), with a length of 4.13 km.

The road cross-section has a width of 9m; of which the road surface and reinforced shoulders are 8m wide; the road surface is asphalt concrete. A lighting system will be constructed along the route. The Van Ly Bridge, spanning the Thu Bon River, is 460m long and designed for permanent use (a lifespan of 100 years). The bridge width is 9m (8m for the carriageway; 0.5m for the guardrails and railings on each side); the clearance for navigation on the Thu Bon River is Class IV, 30m wide and 6m high.
The Van Ly bridge project, connecting the three communes of Dien Quang, Dien Hong, and Dai Hoa, officially commenced construction in October 2023. Initially, construction of abutment M2 (on the Dien Hong commune side) could not proceed due to obstacles related to agricultural land owned by local residents, for which no compensation or support plan had yet been established. The contractor, Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company, had to rent land to create a space for casting girders, installing girders, and bringing in equipment to pour concrete for casting the guardrail.

To date, the contractor has completed the rough construction of the substructure and superstructure. Notably, the bridge's span includes a 250m long continuous cantilever section, firmly connecting piers T2, T3, and T4. On the bridge, workers are currently smoothing the edges of the guardrails and installing the remaining sections of the railings.

Engineer Dao Hong Ngoc, a technical officer at Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company, shared that the total construction value of the Van Ly bridge project alone is approximately 152 billion VND. Currently, the contractor has completed work worth 151.2 billion VND. Engineer Ngoc added that in the coming time, the unit will focus on completing a few remaining auxiliary items of the bridge and installing lighting. If the construction site for the western approach road becomes available, the contractor will proceed with asphalt paving of the bridge surface.

According to the project's chief supervisor, engineer Bui Huy Phu, an officer from the Road Engineering Center 3, the construction of the Van Ly bridge and access roads is scheduled to be completed in March 2026. The project must be finished before September 2025 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd and the 23rd Congress of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee (2025-2030 term).

According to engineer Phu, the Van Ly bridge project has met the schedule and ensured quality. The biggest concern remains the construction of the two access roads, as only the section on the Dien Quang commune side of the Go Noi area has been completed and the land handed over to the investor and contractor. The N2 access road, consisting of three elevated bridges, located within agricultural land in Dien Hong commune, still lacks the necessary land for construction.
The Van Ly Bridge and its approach roads have an approved total investment of VND 575 billion. Of this, VND 420 billion comes from the central government budget and VND 155 billion from the provincial budget. The total construction value of the entire project, according to the contract, is VND 467.13 billion; of which the construction value of the approach roads alone (including the elevated bridge) accounts for VND 267.05 billion. Upon completion, the project will seamlessly connect with the following transportation routes: DT610B and National Highway 1 to the east (Duy Xuyen); National Highway 14H to the south (Duy Xuyen); DT609, DT605, and the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway to the north (Dien Ban); DT609B and Giao Thuy Bridge, DT609C, and National Highway 14B to the west (Dai Loc).
