"Our average age is around 21-22. Actually, this is not any preparation. I always choose the best players, even if they are young. This is what I did in the recent AFF Cup 2024. Our squad is among the youngest in the tournament," coach Ha Hyeok-jun emphasized.
The Lao strategist concluded: "From the first day I arrived in Laos, I knew the big gap between the Lao team and Vietnam as well as other developed football countries. I am still working to solve that problem. This time we have less than 10 days to prepare (for the opening match of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers). I always want to reduce the gap between Laos and Vietnam or Thailand. We still have time to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games."
