Coach Cong Manh wishes Binh Duong Club good luck
On the morning of May 7, Binh Duong Club received an urgent meeting, where the team's leadership announced the decision to part ways with coach Nguyen Cong Manh. Coach Cong Manh himself also said goodbye to the team, wishing them luck before leaving.
Remember after losing 0-3 to Hanoi FC in round 19, coach Nguyen Cong Manh asked to resign but the board of directors and the team convinced him to stay. The coach born in 1982 wanted to step down to make way for someone else when the team had poor results.
But after the 1-3 loss at Ha Tinh Stadium, Mr. Manh officially said goodbye to the team. Although he proactively rotated the squad, using many young players or players who rarely played to prepare for the National Cup semi-final, the series of 5 consecutive losses and 1 draw in the V-League forced him to leave.

Once again, Binh Duong Club had to "behead the general". Previously, the team terminated the contract with coach Hoang Anh Tuan (currently leading Bac Ninh Club) after losing to Nam Dinh Club with a score of 1-4 in round 9 of V-League 2024 - 2025.
Looking back, in the last 5 years since 2020, the team nicknamed "Chelsea Vietnam" has gone through 9 coaches, with the list of commanders Nguyen Thanh Son, Dang Tran Chinh (twice), Phan Thanh Hung, Lu Dinh Tuan, Nguyen Quoc Tuan, Le Huynh Duc and now Nguyen Cong Manh.
Will hero Anh Duc break the curse?
According to the latest update, the leading candidate to take the hot seat to replace Cong Manh is Nguyen Anh Duc, a former hero of Binh Duong football. If there are no surprises, the former striker nicknamed Duc "Eto'o" will be able to debut this afternoon.

As a player, Nguyen Anh Duc is considered the most successful symbol of Binh Duong football, contributing to the entire golden age with 4 V-League championships, 2 National Cups, 4 National Super Cups, and the 2014 Mekong Cup championship.
The 2015 Vietnam Golden Ball also won the V-League 2017 Top Scorer title, before scoring the decisive goal against Malaysia to win the 2018 AFF Cup. It can be said that Anh Duc has experienced all the glory as a player with Binh Duong Club.
After 13 years of dedication to his hometown team, Anh Duc played for HAGL Club in the 2020 season before playing football and working as an assistant coach for Long An Club in the first division in the 2021-2022 season, as part of his plan to prepare for a future coaching career.

In total, Anh Duc has experience as head coach of Long An Club in the 2023 season, moving to lead Binh Phuoc Club before parting ways with the Southeast team after a 2-2 draw against PVF-CAND Club in round 10 of the first division in the 2024-2025 season.
In theory, Anh Duc has been well prepared for his coaching career. As a local, the former striker has a great advantage in understanding the players in the club's training camp. His reputation as a hero of the Vietnamese national team also helps him approach other players easily.
If nothing changes, Binh Duong FC is expected to introduce Anh Duc soon, preparing for his debut at home at 6pm on May 11, against Quang Nam FC, a team competing for relegation. Hopefully, finding Anh Duc will help Binh Duong FC find stability after a series of continuous "general beheadings".
