Thailand coach points out 2 Vietnamese U19 female players to pay attention to in the final match

The Vietnam U19 women's team will face Thailand U19 women's team in the final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship. This is the third consecutive time Vietnam has participated in the final match of the tournament, but coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team are still looking for their first championship.

Sharing before the final match, coach Okiyama Masahiko said: "I have not been to Vietnam in previous finals, so I do not know how the game will be, but the current goal is to aim for the championship. Tomorrow will be a difficult match and I want it to be a match dedicated to the fans."

Before the final match of the U19 women's Southeast Asia tomorrow (June 18), the U19 women's Vietnam team made a strong impression by keeping a clean sheet in all 4 matches.

Speaking about this, Mr. Masahiko said that set pieces are very important and the players who perform them practice very carefully, practice a lot after training sessions. Besides, Mr. Masahiko also revealed that the team has carefully prepared for the 11m penalty shootout.

Speaking more about the weather in Ho Chi Minh City, the Japanese strategist confidently affirmed: "We were given the opportunity to practice early and have gotten used to the rainy weather. I have come up with a strategy and the team has caught on very quickly."

On the other side of the front line, the coach of the Thai U19 women's team, Nengrithai Sarathongvien, said that the whole team was lucky to have the strongest force, with no injuries, to face the Vietnamese U19 women's team. However, she still assessed that this would be a good but challenging experience.

Coach Sarathongvien also said that the whole team will pay attention to the two strikers of Vietnam: "In the past matches, the Vietnamese defense played well, to score against them is a big challenge for us. The opportunity is divided equally for both teams tomorrow. The Vietnamese attack has number 9 - Luu Hoang Van, 19 - Thanh Hieu and we will have a plan to focus on these two players".

The final match of the Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship between Vietnam and Thailand will take place tomorrow (June 18), at 6:30 p.m. at Thong Nhat Stadium.
