The event aims to summarize and evaluate the outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movements and commendation work of the Group in the past 5 years, and at the same time set out the direction for the next period. This is also an opportunity to honor collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the period 2020-2024.
The conference was attended and directed by comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, President of the Vietnam Veterans Association; comrade Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union; comrade Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; and delegates representing central ministries/departments.
On Petrovietnam's side, there were comrade Le Manh Hung, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group; comrade Le Ngoc Son, Deputy Party Secretary, General Director, Chairman of the Emulation and Reward Council of the Group; comrade Tran Quang Dung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Group; together with comrades in the Party Committee Standing Committee, members of the Board of Directors, Deputy General Directors of the Group, leaders of socio -political organizations, leaders of member units of the Group, representatives of commended collectives and individuals, and delegates from units.
Spread the patriotic emulation movement
Speaking at the opening of the conference, comrade Le Ngoc Son, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, General Director, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group, highly appreciated the proactive, creative and persistent efforts of the staff and employees of Petrovietnam, especially the 15 groups and 50 typical advanced individuals at the Group level in the period of 2020-2024, representing the spirit of dedication, creativity and perseverance of Petrovietnam employees, which is a factor contributing to the "complete puzzle" for the overall picture of "half a century" of building and developing the Group.
In the past 5 years, despite many difficulties and challenges, the reputation, brand and image of Petrovietnam have always been affirmed both domestically and internationally, clearly demonstrating the role of an important economic group, holding the leading position in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. Being a tool for regulating the macro economy of the Government, creating a large source of revenue for the national budget; contributing to ensuring economic security, energy security, food security and actively participating in protecting and maintaining national sovereignty and security at sea, performing well in social security work, achieving outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement.
With the spirit of “One Team - One Goal” and the motto of “Managing Changes”, the Group has successfully completed 12/12 targets set by the Resolution of the Congress for the 2020-2025 term, many targets were completed 1-2 years ahead of schedule, setting a new record. This is unprecedented in the Group’s 50-year history.
Comrade Le Ngoc Son emphasized: “Thousands of ideas, initiatives, and creative solutions have been applied, bringing in thousands of billions of VND in value, contributing to improving the productivity, quality, and efficiency of the Group’s production and business. These achievements are clear evidence of the continuous efforts, selfless dedication, and cultural beauty of more than 54,000 Petrovietnam cadres, party members, and employees.”
The conference not only commends and rewards typical advanced collectives and individuals in the period of 2020-2024, but is also an important occasion for the Group to summarize and evaluate good models and practices, analyze and draw lessons. At the same time, it determines the direction and tasks of organizing emulation movements and commendation work in the period of 2025-2030, in order to arouse the aspiration to bring the Group to grow with the country, creating a new spirit and new energy for all cadres, party members and employees with the goal of renewing the growth model, promoting science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, developing high-quality human resources..., in line with the requirements of energy transition, sustainable development strategy and deep integration.
The mark of 5 years of continuous efforts
Presenting a report on the patriotic emulation movement in the recent period and the direction and tasks for the period 2025-2030, comrade Do Chi Thanh, Deputy General Director, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Group's Economic and Financial Council, said that the period 2020-2024 was a particularly difficult period for Petrovietnam due to the double impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the prolonged decline in oil prices. However, in an extremely difficult and challenging context, the emulation movements have become a guiding light, a driving force for the entire Group's employees to persevere, be creative, and overcome difficulties together. The entire political system has joined in and created a combined strength to carry out and exceed the assigned political tasks and planning targets. Contributing to affirming the prestige, brand and image of the Group both domestically and internationally.
The emulation movements have truly aroused the love for the profession, the spirit of innovation and creativity, promoted technical improvement initiatives, increased labor productivity, saved costs, controlled progress and quality of work, shortened work processing time; built a corporate culture environment; made workers more attached to their work. From the emulation movements, typical advanced collectives and individuals have emerged, they are excellent representatives of the generation of intelligent, brave workers who dare to face challenges, they are the core of patriotic emulation movements.
Some emulation movements on key projects and works to ensure the quality and progress of projects/works such as: Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant, Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant, Block B Gas Field Development Project Phase 2...
The patriotic emulation movement has aroused the spirit of solidarity and high determination, creating a series of impressive results. There are about 7,082 topics, initiatives and solutions recognized at the grassroots level, of which 1,491 topics and initiatives of great value are recognized and effectively applied at the unit and 100 initiatives are recognized at the Group level, with a total profit of about 11,418 billion VND.
In particular, in the past 5 years, collectives and individual employees in the Group have won many science and technology awards. Specifically: 03 Ho Chi Minh Awards account for 25% of the projects/clusters of projects winning awards; 03 State Awards account for 18% of the projects/clusters of projects winning awards; 34 science and technology research projects have won VIFOTEC awards, including 03 first prizes, 04 international inventions that have been granted certificates or valid application certificates. Emulation movements have also helped the Group save more than 26.6 trillion VND; 4,190 innovative products were registered in 2024 and the first 6 months of 2025 alone; joining hands to support social security activities with 3,569 billion VND
Identifying emulation as a driving force for sustainable development, in the coming period, the Group will continue to promote the patriotic emulation movement with more diverse contents and forms. Special attention will be paid to the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, promoting initiatives and solutions in management, operation and production and business activities towards the goal of high and sustainable growth, attracting and nurturing talents, practicing thrift and combating waste. In addition, ensuring good security, safety and environment; preventing natural disasters and climate change; contributing to ensuring national defense - security and preserving national maritime borders must be considered as the top important emulation content along with other emulation movements. The work of commendation must be substantive, to the right people, to the right achievements and in a timely manner.
Bright spot in promoting emulation movement
An important highlight at the Conference was the presentations on innovative initiatives and good models in spreading and promoting patriotic emulation movements in the Group's member units. In particular, PV GAS presented a presentation on "Leadership and direction of Party Committees/Unit Leaders/Trade Unions in organizing and implementing patriotic emulation movements according to the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation". PQPOC presented a presentation on "Organizing and implementing emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister on key projects to successfully complete assigned tasks". PVCFC presented a presentation on "Organizing patriotic emulation movements and innovating emulation and reward work associated with Science and Technology (S&T), Innovation (I&T) and Digital Transformation (DCT)".
The exchange and discussion section created a friendly atmosphere, strongly inspiring with typical, outstanding advanced examples. The real stories from veteran leaders, key operating teams to skilled construction technicians are vivid proof of the spirit of innovation, creativity and continuous dedication of employees and workers in all positions. Thereby, spreading the sense of responsibility, sending meaningful messages to all Petrovietnam workers to continue to build and develop the Group strongly in the new period.
To make the emulation movement always an endogenous driving force
Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor highly appreciated the effectiveness of patriotic emulation movements at Petrovietnam.
Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized that despite facing unprecedented difficulties and challenges from the Covid-19 pandemic, the global energy crisis and oil price fluctuations, Petrovietnam has steadfastly overcome, maintained stable production and business activities and achieved many impressive achievements. Petrovietnam continuously maintains its leading position in the rankings of prestigious and most effective enterprises in Vietnam. In particular, patriotic emulation movements not only strongly arouse the spirit of dedication and sense of responsibility in each employee but also create great economic value, contributing to optimizing resources, improving production and business efficiency and competitiveness of the Group.
Entering the 2025-2030 period, in order for the patriotic emulation movement to continue to be considered an important driving force and an effective management tool of Petrovietnam, comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang directed:
Firstly, Petrovietnam needs to promote scientific and technological innovation, promote creativity and digital transformation in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo; implement drastically and synchronously, playing a pioneering role in leading the new development trend of the national energy industry.
Second, strongly innovate and improve the quality of emulation movements throughout the Group; continue to arouse determination and promote creativity. At the same time, organize activities to care for, encourage and motivate employees to enthusiastically compete in production and labor, contributing to the sustainable development of Petrovietnam.
Third, promote the exemplary role of advanced models, promptly replicate initiatives, models, and good and effective practices throughout the Group; build appropriate mechanisms and policies, create resources to encourage and motivate; spread good examples, popularize effective practices, and maximize the capacity, intelligence, and dedication of employees.
Fourth, encourage and motivate cadres, employees and workers to actively participate in emulation movements, promote initiatives and creativity; organize many practical activities to encourage and motivate self-awareness and enthusiasm for work, research and study.
Fifth, strengthen inspection, supervision and timely public and transparent rewards; ensure that rewards truly become a driving force to promote emulation movements, encourage healthy efforts, for the right people, for the right work.
On behalf of the Group's leadership, Comrade Le Manh Hung, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam expressed his deep gratitude for the instructions of Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang and affirmed that the patriotic emulation movement at Petrovietnam will continue to be considered a driving force for development in the new period.
Comrade Le Manh Hung suggested that, immediately after the Conference, the entire Petrovietnam system needs to focus on concretizing and drastically implementing the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2025-2030 with the following main contents:
First of all, it is necessary to thoroughly grasp Ho Chi Minh's ideology on patriotic emulation, effectively implement Directive No. 41 and major policies of the Party and State on emulation and reward work. The movement must be closely linked to Petrovietnam's cultural values, organized practically and effectively, closely following political tasks, and linked to the Group's strategic goals.
Second, it is necessary to promote the role of emulation in key areas such as science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation, associated with the implementation of the Group's strategic goals in core areas: Energy, Technology and High-quality Services. Emulation must be associated with improving governance, developing high-quality human resources, enhancing competitiveness and international integration.
Third, organize specialized emulation movements associated with key projects and works to promote progress, ensure quality, safety and highest efficiency. At the same time, continue to strongly spread the movements of "good workers, creative workers", "promoting initiatives, technical improvements", creating motivation to improve labor productivity and exceed assigned targets.
Finally, the reward work needs to be carried out in accordance with the motto of being substantial, fair, timely, right person - right job, effective, inspiring positive, encouraging the desire for innovation, creativity and dedication of employees throughout Petrovietnam.
At the Conference, Comrade Le Manh Hung called on all Petrovietnam officers, engineers, workers and employees to continue to promote the spirit of responsibility, proactiveness, innovation, daring to think, daring to do, and striving to excellently complete political tasks, management plans, and business production for the period 2025-2030.
Honoring advanced role models
The conference solemnly commended and rewarded 15 typical advanced collectives and 50 individuals at the Group level for the period 2020-2024.
50 individuals with outstanding achievements is a meaningful number towards the 50th anniversary of the Group's establishment, welcoming the 4th Party Congress of the Group and celebrating the milestone of Petrovietnam with the new name of Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group.
