Sharing with more than 20,000 people attending the GM Vietnam 2025 event, FPT Group Chairman Truong Gia Binh emphasized that Vietnam has geopolitical advantages, being a rare country with comprehensive strategic partnerships with 12 major countries.
In recent times, Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general have been the meeting point of major world leaders. This position will create special conditions for Vietnam's development in the future.
Second advantage, Vietnam is also a rare country in the world with a high economic growth rate of nearly 8% per year. But more importantly, from 2026 onwards, Vietnam aims for double-digit growth - something not many countries dare to commit to.
This goal is based on three important transformation pillars including digital transformation, artificial intelligence transformation and green transformation. This is also the content of Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
In the field of information technology, Vietnam has a premise. From a country “without a name on the world digital map”, Vietnam has risen and shined in the global digital space.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh shared that he was moved when he heard Mr. Narayana Murthy, founder of Infosys, say: "In the world, there are only a few countries with software service companies with revenue of more than 1 billion USD, namely India and Vietnam". And India and Vietnam are also two countries with more than 1 million people working in the information technology sector.
Vietnam also has more than 1 million people working in the information technology sector. Therefore, NVIDIA CEO, Mr. Jensen Huang shared with FPT leaders about choosing Vietnam as a second home. And in fact, just 9 months later, that became a reality.
This is a testament to Vietnam's excellent position, especially in the field of blockchain and digital assets.
Vietnam is one of the very few countries that consider blockchain as digital infrastructure and is deeply integrating it into the economy. In 2025, the Law on Digital Technology Industry was passed by the National Assembly, paving the legal path for the generation of startups, engineers and blockchain technology creators.
In fact, Vietnam has become a dynamic blockchain hub in Asia with crypto transactions reaching a scale of 120 billion USD/year; 7 million people owning cryptocurrencies; more than 35 million transactions per year.
According to Mr. Binh, Vietnamese people have characteristics that are suitable for new technology. They are sensitive, like new things, and love technology.
FPT Corporation itself has also made great strides in this field, from developing its own blockchain platform 15 years ago, to products such as akaChain, Utop.
Recently, the European Aviation Association has unanimously chosen FPT's blockchain to be attached to all components and spare parts for aircraft of all airlines in Europe.
In the context of volatile geopolitics, Vietnam has decided to build an emerging financial center, not only related to traditional finance, but also crypto, blockchain, digital assets. Mr. Binh commented that this will be a space to develop digital talent, innovation and startups for young Vietnamese people.
“I predict that the technologies that young Vietnamese people are passionate about, such as blockchain, AI, Big Data, IoT, Metaverse, NFT, etc., will explode and bring Vietnam to a worthy position,” FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh emphasized.
