Gone are the familiar gray concrete slabs; the vacant land next to entrance number 3 of Ba Son metro station has been transformed with lush, neatly planted green grass, causing a sensation among young people in Ho Chi Minh City.

A popular check-in spot for young people, this place boasts a direct view of the Ba Son Bridge, the Saigon River, and the city's iconic Landmark 81 building.

Having learned about this place through TikTok, Thùy Linh (from Biên Hòa) and her friend traveled over 30 km to take photos. "There are many photogenic spots here with the city's new iconic landmarks. The atmosphere is also very cool; after taking photos, you can sit and relax, enjoying the breeze," Linh shared. She chose a white dress to stand out against the green grass.

Whenever she's browsing social media and discovers a location with many beautiful photo spots, Minh Thu (a resident of Phu Nhuan district) and her friends always go there to check in. She shared: "This place has many angles that suit the concept we're pursuing. The space is airy, cool, and quite uncrowded," Thu said.

The abandoned building at the foot of the Ba Son bridge, with its walls covered in graffiti, is one of the prominent check-in spots here. The windows form a natural frame, facing directly towards Landmark 81 - the tallest building in Vietnam.

Photos taken with buildings covered in greenery or the sunset over the Ba Son bridge are also popular among young people. The blend of old and modern elements creates a multifaceted Ho Chi Minh City, both familiar and new.

While browsing TikTok, Thùy Vân (from Gò Vấp) stumbled upon some beautiful check-in photos and invited her two roommates to experience it. "We started preparing at 12 noon but didn't arrive until 4:15 PM because we got lost and had trouble finding a parking spot. Unexpectedly, the place was quite quiet, airy, and had many great photo opportunities – perfect for a date with your significant other," Vân shared.

As evening approached, several groups of friends brought food and drinks to sit and enjoy the breeze, watching the sunset paint the tall buildings on the other side of the river in golden hues.

The photo spot with the Ba Son Bridge is still incredibly popular. Even though she's taken pictures there many times before, Huyen Tran (Binh Tan) keeps coming back. "This is probably my favorite spot in Ho Chi Minh City. I came back this time because there's a new grassy area," Tran shared.

To take beautiful photos, some young people bring along professional cameras, tripods, reflectors, and flashlights...

In the late afternoon, more and more people flocked to the lawn to enjoy the breeze, eat, and chat. After work, some office workers also stopped by to sit before taking the metro home.

The riverside area also attracts young people thanks to its expansive views, allowing them to observe the bustling life of the riverside city. Since the Ba Son Bridge was illuminated, more and more locals and tourists have lingered on both banks of the Saigon River to admire this new symbol of Ho Chi Minh City.

Not far from there is the Ba Son metro station. As soon as you step off the escalator, the iconic Landmark 81 building comes into view.
