Traffic Police Department guides on linking VNeTraffic account with VNeID

People can communicate with traffic police and carry out administrative procedures more quickly and conveniently through the VNeTraffic application.

The Traffic Police Department (Traffic Police, Ministry of Public Security ) has just issued instructions for people to link their VNeTraffic account with their VNeID account on the official website. Citizens need to download and update the latest version of the VNeTraffic and VNeID applications, as well as ensure that their VNeID account is at level 2.

How to link VNeTraffic account with VNeID account

Log in via VNeID:

Step 1: Citizens choose to log in with “Electronic identification account”.

Step 2: Enter account information and password to log in to VNeID.

Step 3: Citizens agree to the information sharing content, click "Confirm sharing".

At the initial interface, select login with Electronic Identification Account.

Step 4: Citizen enters VNeID passcode to confirm.

Step 5: If the citizen has created a VNeTraffic account, the account will be automatically upgraded to level 2 and successfully log in to VNeTraffic.

Step 6: If the citizen has not created a VNeTraffic account, the citizen needs to enter information to register for an account.

Step 7: Set password.

Step 8: Successfully registered for VNeTraffic level 2 account.

How to authenticate VNeID via notification:

Step 1: Citizens log in to their VNeTraffic account.

Step 2: Citizens choose to view the functions: Paper wallet; Violation history; Traffic violation notification; Administrative violation record notification; Administrative violation penalty decision notification; New issuance, exchange, re-issuance of driving license, Vehicle registration.

Step 3: Select “Verify now” or “Confirm”, the application will connect to VNeID to authenticate citizen information.

Step 4: Enter account information and password to log in to VNeID.

Step 5: Agree with the information sharing content, click "Confirm sharing".

Step 6: Enter VNeID passcode to confirm.

Step 7: Confirm data sharing with VNeTraffic application (if any).

Step 8: Confirm VNeTraffic application password (if any).

Step 9: Set up VNeTraffic passcode (if any).

Step 10: Upgrade VNeTraffic account level 2 successfully.

The Traffic Police Department said it is coordinating with relevant units to build and develop the VNeTraffic application, aiming to establish a new communication portal between people and traffic police. This application helps people carry out administrative procedures more quickly.

Regarding driver's licenses, traffic police will check by presenting them on the VNeTraffic application or people just need to read the personal identification code or driver's license number, traffic police will check the information on the professional application. Thus, people will no longer need to use physical driver's licenses, except in cases where they do not use VNeID and VNeTraffic application accounts.

In addition, when there is an individual's electronic health certificate, one month before the driver's license expires, the VNeTraffic application will send a notification to the user and automatically renew it. The system will reject cases where the individual has not complied with the penalty decision, is not in good health or has other unsatisfactory cases.

The Traffic Police Department will advise the Ministry of Public Security to report to the Government to agree on signing an international treaty approving electronic international driving licenses between Vietnam and countries around the world (which have joined the international convention on traffic). People with international driving licenses can exchange and use the electronic version themselves.

People can carry out vehicle registration declaration procedures on the application. When there is an electronic customs certificate or electronic tax certificate, the system will automatically authenticate the vehicle registration procedure and allow the license plate to be stamped.

In addition, the application also allows tracking of vehicles (automatically updated with personal identification codes) that have had accidents, where and when, or where and why they were fined for traffic violations.

Regarding administrative fines, the Traffic Police Department said that after 2 hours of the violation being recorded, the system will notify the application users and people can pay the fine on VNeTraffic.

According to statistics from the Traffic Police Department, the VNeTraffic application currently has more than 1.4 million users, including more than 350,000 level 2 accounts.
