Ensuring social security for workers

As a member organization under the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, over the years, the Dong Nai Provincial Trade Union has always played a core role in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers; at the same time, it is a bridge between the Party, the State and the working class, contributing to strengthening the trust of workers in the leadership of the Party and the government.

Many models of trade union organizations aimed at union members and workers have been highly appreciated and replicated by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), creating motivation for trade unions to continue to innovate their activities, becoming a solid support for union members and workers in the new situation.

Many practical care activities

According to the Provincial Federation of Labor, Dong Nai has more than 1.4 million workers working in industrial parks, clusters, and enterprises of many economic sectors. This is an important resource contributing to economic growth, social security stability, and building great national unity in the province. In recent years, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the close coordination of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and member organizations, the Provincial Trade Unions at all levels have achieved many positive results.

Typically, activities to practically care for the lives of union members and workers have been implemented synchronously by the Trade Unions at all levels, effectively mobilizing many resources from the Union budget, local budget, enterprises and socialization. Through the programs: Union Shelter, union member welfare, Tet Sum Vay, Workers' Month, Union Tet Market..., many union members and workers in difficult circumstances, workers affected by employment, natural disasters, serious illnesses, and work-related accidents have risen up and stabilized their lives. In the first 9 months of 2025 alone, 10 Union shelters were newly built and repaired for union members in difficult circumstances, worth 30-50 million VND/house.

Mr. Nguyen Van Toai, working at Xuan Hung Kindergarten (Xuan Hoa Commune, Dong Nai Province) is one of the union members who has just received a Union shelter from the Provincial Federation of Labor with a support fund of 50 million VND. Excitedly standing next to the new house, Mr. Toai emotionally shared: “Thanks to the loving arms of the Union, my family has a solid shelter to stabilize our lives and work with peace of mind. I hope that there will be more shelters built in the near future so that workers with housing difficulties can settle down and work, and be attached to the locality.”

Dong Nai Trade Union plays two roles, both as a Front and a socio- political organization. Therefore, the unit needs to correctly identify the core tasks to put the apparatus into effective and efficient operation. The Provincial Labor Federation must be the center of solidarity to motivate cadres and civil servants to uphold the sense of responsibility in each department, and promote the role in caring for and protecting the rights of workers. The Union continues to research new models, strongly applying information technology in propagating the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State to union members and workers.

The annual Tet Sum Vay program is considered a clear mark of Dong Nai Trade Union with union members and workers in the province. From enterprises to boarding houses, images of Trade Union officials appear in many places to visit and hand over gifts from the province and the Trade Union organization to share difficulties with workers. Along with that is the program of Meeting with workers' families with many emotions and humane meanings. At the meetings, representatives of provincial leaders, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and organizations participate, encouraging workers to celebrate Tet safely, happily and with full joy.

Along with the gifts, the train and bus trips organized by the Trade Union during Tet have contributed to bringing thousands of workers back to their hometowns to reunite with their families after many years away from home. According to the Standing Vice President of the Provincial Labor Confederation, Bui Thi Bich Thuy, continuing to accompany workers, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, Dong Nai Labor Union plans to support more than 2,200 bus tickets to bring union members and workers in difficult circumstances back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet. The trips are expected to be organized from February 11 to 14, 2026. This is an effort of the Trade Union organization with the hope that many workers far from home will have the opportunity to reunite with their families.

Stabilize jobs and workers' lives

In 2025, the encouraging sign is that businesses in Dong Nai have improved in terms of orders and accelerated production, creating jobs and stable income for workers. The labor relations situation in the province is generally stable, workers are actively working in production, participating in emulation movements to innovate and improve product quality. To achieve that result, it is necessary to mention the efforts of businesses in ensuring welfare policies and the support of trade unions at all levels and sectors in taking care of workers' lives.

In addition, the grassroots trade union has increasingly promoted its role, coordinated smoothly with business leaders to strengthen periodic dialogue, publicize information on production situation, and proactively listen to opinions from employees. At the same time, it resolves arising conflicts, contributing to limiting collective labor disputes leading to strikes, promoting stable and united labor relations. Currently, in the province, there are 1,800 collective labor agreements signed at enterprises with grassroots trade unions, creating a legal corridor to protect employees' rights.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Chairman of the Trade Union of Elite Long Thanh Company Limited (in Long Thanh commune) said: Currently, the company creates stable jobs for nearly 4,000 workers with an average salary of 8.2 million VND/month. The company is increasing the recruitment of unskilled workers in the garment industry and offering many policies to attract workers. The company's Trade Union regularly follows the lives of workers; innovates care activities so that workers increasingly trust the Trade Union and are attached to the business.

At the working session with Dong Nai Trade Union on the situation of labor relations, workers and Trade Unions in October, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu highly appreciated the outstanding results of Dong Nai Trade Union, especially in building comprehensive and solid labor relations. The Trade Union, through policy mechanisms, coordinates with the government and enterprises, becoming a connecting point, protecting the rights and ensuring social security for workers. This practical care helps workers feel secure in their work and contribute to the development of enterprises and the province.

Continue to affirm the central role in strengthening the great national unity bloc

The 1st Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2025-2030 term is an event of important political and social significance for the province. I hope that the Congress will continue to clearly affirm its central role in consolidating the great national unity bloc; at the same time, concretize it with solutions suitable for each locality and each target group. Especially in large areas where people's lives are not equal, where there are many ethnic minorities and religions, the Front needs to continue to accompany and create more practical support mechanisms, from monitoring social security policies, ethnicity, religion to implementing livelihood models, building great unity houses, taking care of poor students and the disadvantaged.

Innovate operations to suit practical situations

In the exciting atmosphere of competition towards the Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, people from all walks of life expressed their belief and expectation that the congress would open a new stage for the work of the Front and the great national unity bloc. I hope that the congress will pay attention to practical issues such as: sustainable poverty reduction, environmental protection, social security, building cultural life in residential areas and promoting the role of the community in local socio-economic development. Strengthening solidarity and cohesion among people of all walks of life and ethnic groups; innovating the content and methods of operation of the Front, in accordance with the practical situation of the province.
