Coach Philipe Troussier divided the team into two groups to practice against each other on the afternoon of March 25. One group wore white shirts and the other group wore blue shirts. Notably, the group of players in blue shirts includes many players regularly used by coach Philippe Troussier.
Midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai is in the group of blue shirt players. Before that, he did not play in the first leg.
Under coach Philippe Troussier, Nguyen Quang Hai often had to sit out important matches. At the 2023 Asian Cup, he did not play in the opening match against Japan. In the second round against Indonesia, the player from Hanoi Police Club started from the start but was replaced in the middle of the second half. In the final match against Iraq, Quang Hai continued to sit out before entering the field in the second half.
The remaining blue shirt players include Ho Tan Tai, Bui Tien Dung, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Phan Tuan Tai, Khuat Van Khang, Vu Van Thanh, Nguyen Thai Son, Le Pham Thanh Long, Nguyen Tien Linh, Nguyen Hoang Duc, Nguyen Dinh Bac, Vo Minh Trong and Nguyen Van Toan.
Goalkeeper Nguyen Filip was assigned to play with the group of blue shirt players. The goalkeeper of the Hanoi Police Club is considered to be a main player in the Vietnamese team, because he is rated much higher than his two colleagues Nguyen Dinh Trieu and Nguyen Van Viet.
This is the last training session of the Vietnamese team before the match day. This training session is only open for 15 minutes for the media. Previously, coach Troussier closed the door during two training sessions on March 23 and 24.
Coach Troussier said that the players are in a comfortable spirit and ready for the next match. He said: “Currently, the players are all ready to enter the field. In my hand, I have 15-16 players ready to compete for a position in the starting lineup of the Vietnamese team. In addition, I have strategic reserve players to change the situation. Players need to maintain high intensity throughout the match, ensuring physical strength to press. I believe they will do it".
The match between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place at 19:26 p.m. tomorrow, March 3, at My Dinh Stadium (Hanoi).
