Coach Vu Quang Bao passed away

Mr. Vu Quang Bao is a veteran coach of Vietnamese football. He came from Military Zone 4 Club, then played for The Cong, and then ended his football career in the colors of Song Lam Nghe An .

During his coaching career, he was the head coach of Military Zone 4, Navibank Saigon, Can Tho , Lam Dong, Quang Nam, Thanh Hoa. The last team he coached was the People's Public Security Club, but in April 2022, he left after 1 year of working there.

Coach Vu Quang Bao passed away.

Having retired from football, this veteran coach still has a lot of passion for his coaching career, often calling to share with his colleagues, especially with sports reporters.

A few days ago, he texted me to say: “ I have been watching the Asian Cup regularly, son, and have not missed any matches. It is just a pity that the Vietnamese team has not played as well as expected .”

At 3am this morning (February 8), former player Vu Trong Thong texted me to say: “ My dad passed away ”, which left me in shock. Coach Vu Quang Bao passed away after a heart attack at his home in Thai Hoa town (Nghe An province) at around 0:00 on February 8. Because it was so close to Lunar New Year, his family will cremate his coffin at 8:00am this morning (February 8, the 29th day of the Lunar New Year).

The sudden passing of Coach Vu Quang Bao is a loss for his family and the Vietnamese football community, especially his students - former players who came from the former Military Zone 4 Club.
