The boy writes good dreams from small things

Amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, there is a young man who is busy sowing seeds of goodness in the heart of the city or even in the most remote villages in the Northwest of the country.

That is Do Van Lap - the writer of good dreams from small things, because the projects that Lap is implementing all come from the desire to share "a little warmth, a little love" with the community.

Some pictures of a Good Night in Hanoi

Do Van Lap is from Hai Phong, currently working at Yody An Dinh Office, Hai Duong City (now Hai Phong). I don't remember exactly when Lap and I met. Maybe the "universe" connected us through Facebook when I occasionally posted to ask for things for students in the highlands, such as clothes, warm blankets for winter, sometimes shoes, hats for summer, books and pens for the new school year... My impression of Lap started from his journey to the villages in the highlands: "go - experience - understand and share". As Lap shared, thanks to those trips, he realized how he needed to live to have a youth without regrets. He persistently and persistently sowed the seeds of goodness into life through the Goodness Project for low-income people in big cities, children in the highlands of the Northwest. When asked why he started the Good Project, Lap shared: "I think every small action, if it comes from a sincere heart, will be fully appreciated. So I choose to live a useful, meaningful and kind life. That is also my way of being grateful for life and spreading good things to those around me."

"Love Vitamin" by Dem Lanh

Dem Lanh is a project that Lap and his teammates carried out in the capital Hanoi in August 2024. As Lap said, "more than 4 hours wandering around Hanoi, finding enough people - from the elderly homeless, night workers to those who really need it" to give "Dem Lanh gifts". And Dem Lanh started from 4pm until late at night. Each night worker has a different life, fate, and circumstance. Dem Lanh gave them a lot of "vitamins of love". Even though that night, the autumn rain suddenly poured down, the handshakes, the shoulder hugs, the hugs of the female cleaners with cancer whose husbands had a stroke, Mr. Hung's family collecting scrap metal, 60-year-old Ms. Huong with two children by her side, the 68-year-old motorbike taxi driver with thyroid cancer... in the heart of the capital made Lap and the young people more determined to do projects for the poor and disadvantaged in society.

Mr. Chu and a warm New Year

In the last days of the lunar year of Giap Thin 2024, when the Tet atmosphere is bustling everywhere, Do Van Lap continues to carry out his charity journey with the project "Lanh len ban" with the desire to bring a warm spring to the Northwest highlands. This special project has brought a "Lanh Tet" to 30 poor and near-poor families in Ngai Chu village, Giang Ma commune, Tam Duong district, Lai Chau province (currently Ta Leng commune). Not only are the gifts practical, but also the feelings of sharing and warm companionship between young people and the highland people during the Tet holiday. Lap said: "Lanh len ban is carried out with two major pillars: Good Gifts - Good Love - Good Night and Good Bookshelf".

The project has personally handed out 30 gifts to poor and near-poor families, directly visited 5 families with special difficulties and single-parent families, organized a cultural night to connect and build a bookshelf to sow the seeds of knowledge and dreams for children in Ngai Chu. In the cold of winter in the highlands, Lap's work further affirms the belief in life, in the myriad of difficulties of life, love is always present. Those seeds of goodness not only nurture the belief and motivation to rise up in life for those in difficult circumstances, but also motivate young people to cultivate love, compassion and responsibility for the community, because "giving is forever".

Free Healthy Class

On May 18, 2025, the Free Good Class for disadvantaged second graders in Hai Duong (now Hai Phong) had an extremely impressive and warm closing ceremony. A very special class: no transcripts, no tuition, no profit and full of love. Lap said: "After many nights of thinking and worrying, we started planning, finding a location, together "inviting" the children, together building a "lesson plan" with the hope that the class will ignite a love of learning, fostering a spirit of curiosity in each child".

Free Healthy Class

Every month, Lap's team teaches 8 math and Vietnamese sessions, 4 extracurricular sessions, with the goal of helping children master knowledge and achieve 8 points or higher in school exams. In this class, children not only learn from textbooks but also live in a creative and humane space. Each class has interesting activities such as "collecting stars to exchange for gifts", practicing life skills through close and attractive extracurricular activities such as cooking, TikTok dancing, practicing Vovinam martial arts, being an MC... It can be said that Lanh Class is a "fairy garden" in the heart of the city, planting seeds of knowledge, love and aspirations to rise up in the lives of children in difficult circumstances. The children, who used to be shy, have gradually become confident in writing their dreams on their learning journey, saying thank you to their parents and siblings - those who accompany them after each school day. That is a great happiness and motivation for Lap and his teammates to continue maintaining the 0-dong Goodness class in the following years.

Lanh went to the village to celebrate Children's Day

Most recently, Do Van Lap's team continued to implement the project "Lanh len ban" on the occasion of Children's Day 1.6 in Yen Lap commune, Phu Tho. Sharing about the purpose of implementing this project, Lap said: "Social networking platforms are silently and quietly "stealing" the childhood of children, so this project is an experience for children to fully enjoy the joy of Children's Day". The project not only brings meaningful gifts such as candy, books, school supplies but also organizes many games, experiences in learning spaces, campfires, performances... to help "the children's carefree childhood not be forgotten". In the atmosphere of a festival, innocent, bright eyes sparkling with joy, innocent laughter in the middle of the vast "palm forests and tea hills" is the simplest and most sincere thank you for the kind hearts of the "Lanh len ban" project.

Children's Day 1.6 in Phu Tho

I really admire the spirit and good heart of the young man Do Van Lap. The projects he has implemented and the future plans he is nurturing are all fueled by good seeds. Sowing many good seeds into life is not to polish his name, not for personal gain, simply because his heart tells him, because of the belief he always holds in his heart: The little things in life, as long as they come from the heart, will touch the heart.

Thank you - the young man who writes kind dreams from small things, you live beautifully with the gentle light of kindness, with the true love of a sincere, tolerant and warm heart. That love is spreading a sweet fragrance to life.
