Talking to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dam, Chairman of the Heart Connection Club (Cam Ly commune) when he and his members were urgently preparing a program to support people affected by storm No. 3 Wipha in Nghe An province, we clearly felt the kindness and spirit of mutual love of him and his colleagues. The club was established at the end of 2016 with 80 members, mainly operating to help the poor, those in difficult circumstances, the sick, the sick, the elderly and homeless children... in the former Bac Giang province.

Locally, the Team has raised 784 million VND to support the construction of 2 Red Cross houses for 2 households in especially difficult circumstances. Each year, the Team gives 50 Tet gifts (worth more than 300,000 VND/gift) to disadvantaged families; 12 million VND (to buy milk, candy) to preschool children on the occasion of Children's Day June 1; 60 gifts (500,000 VND/gift) to poor students in the commune on the occasion of the new school year opening ceremony... "The volunteer clubs in the province have many practical and meaningful activities, bringing many positive effects both materially and spiritually to the less fortunate. At the same time, they play an important role in connecting and raising community awareness, spreading the spirit of sharing, building a united, compassionate and developed society" - Ms. Le Thi Duyen, President of the Provincial Red Cross Society. |
Sitting in the house built 2 years ago, Ms. Le Thi Quynh, Gia Phu village, Nhan Thang commune, still cannot forget the feeling of the day she was moved to a spacious house with the support of nearly 200 million VND from the Gia Binh Volunteer Team. Her family is in a particularly difficult situation as her husband has been bedridden for many years, her two children have been mentally ill since childhood, so many worries and burdens of life weigh heavily on her shoulders. Ms. Quynh shared: "Thanks to the Gia Binh Volunteer Team calling on the community, relatives, and neighbors to join hands in support, my family has a new house, no longer worrying about storms".
Ms. Nguyen Thi Uoc, Captain of the Gia Binh Volunteer Team, said: “To build a fund for charity work, the members of the Team have mobilized benefactors to support through various forms, such as: posting on social networks Facebook, Zalo; organizing cultural exchange nights to raise charity funds... After each call for donations and support, the Volunteer Team fully and transparently declares all revenues and expenditures.”
Currently, the province has about 70 clubs, teams, volunteer groups with hundreds of members of different ages actively working with activities such as: Donating, visiting, giving gifts, providing food, clothing, medicine, supporting study costs, medical treatment... helping the poor, the lonely elderly, orphans, the disabled and other vulnerable groups. Organizing humanitarian blood donation activities; supporting the construction and repair of schools. Some clubs are actively operating such as: Common Roof (Tien Du commune), Purple Rose (Bac Giang ward), Heart Connection (Cam Ly commune), Phoenix Charity (Yen Dung ward), Sponsorship Association for people in difficult circumstances (Kinh Bac ward)...
To further spread charity activities, the Provincial Red Cross Society promotes propaganda, especially humanitarian activities, creating emulation movements. Every year, the Society launches a peak period to mobilize resources, build a humanitarian fund; mobilize support for repairing and building Red Cross houses; support livelihoods... The Society does a good job in the campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address", being a reliable bridge for units, organizations and individuals in humanitarian activities. From 2020 to now, the Society has called for support of more than 26 billion VND.
Ms. Le Thi Duyen, President of the Red Cross Society of Bac Ninh province, commented: “The volunteer clubs in the province have practical activities that bring positive effects both materially and spiritually to the less fortunate.
