TPO - Following the effective date of Circular 29 from the Ministry of Education and Training, hundreds of people in Vinh City (Nghe An province) have submitted applications to register as business households to organize tutoring classes.

According to information from the Finance and Planning Department of the Vinh City People's Committee ( Nghe An province ) on the morning of February 16th, nearly 300 people have submitted applications to register as household businesses to organize tutoring sessions.

"Following the Ministry of Education and Training's issuance of Circular 29, the number of people applying to establish household businesses has surged, reaching nearly 300 applications to date," a representative from the Finance and Planning Department of the Vinh City People's Committee informed.

On February 14th, Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training, regulating extracurricular tutoring, came into effect. In Nghe An, the suspension of extracurricular tutoring in schools has been strictly implemented since the Lunar New Year. Simultaneously, schools are discussing solutions to organize remedial classes and review sessions for students, especially those in their final year.

Many schools in Nghe An are encouraging teachers to provide free tutoring for students, especially those in their final year.

The Nghe An Department of Education and Training has also directed schools to review and re-establish the teaching hour quotas for teachers, assign teachers to teach final-year classes to ensure compliance with regulations, and, based on the wishes of parents, arrange for teachers to provide free exam preparation classes for students taking the graduation exams.

For teachers who teach extra hours for graduation exam preparation, schools should allocate funds to pay them according to regulations.

In particular, exam preparation for graduating students must be emphasized, enhancing their knowledge so that they can achieve the best possible results.

Schools in mountainous areas provide free extra classes for students.

Que Phong High School (Que Phong district, Nghe An province) has nearly 1,800 students, including nearly 600 12th-grade students. In preparation for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, the school has decided to organize extra classes for its students.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Tu, the school's Vice Principal, to best prepare students, the school is encouraging teachers to continue providing extra tutoring in the afternoons. This tutoring will be free of charge. In addition, the school is adjusting some schedules. It is expected that morning classes will be shortened from 5 periods to 4 periods. Subjects such as physical education and experiential activities will be moved to the afternoon.

"Given the unique characteristics of this mountainous district, many students come from disadvantaged backgrounds, so the school's teachers volunteer to teach them for free. In previous exam seasons, in addition to teaching in the afternoon, teachers also provided free tutoring in the evenings to ensure their studies were not interrupted," Mr. Tu said.
