That was the theme of the 2023 Hoa Binh Province Tourism Promotion Conference held on the afternoon of November 17 in Mai Chau District. Attending the conference were comrades: Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, People's Committees of districts and cities and 200 delegates from enterprises, tourism and service businesses, travel companies inside and outside the province.
In 2023, with the attention of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee; the direction and guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; the active participation of units, organizations, businesses and the community, many important solutions and tasks have been proactively implemented to effectively promote tourism in the province. Accordingly, priority has been given to promoting and promoting tourism investment in the Hoa Binh Lake National Tourist Area; organizing tourism stimulus programs and implementing digital transformation content; introducing and promoting Hoa Binh tourism and images of landscapes, landscapes, cultural identities of ethnic groups, specialties and typical tourism products.
Regarding tourism infrastructure, many important and key projects have been implemented, such as: Provincial Tourism Infrastructure Development Project; Lac Thuy Tourism Infrastructure Project... The domestic tourism market continues to be exploited. Tourism products are gradually improved. Cooperation activities to develop tourism in the expanded Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City are strengthened.
In the first 9 months of the year, the whole province welcomed nearly 3.35 million visitors, an increase of 21.9% over the same period, reaching 95.6% of the yearly plan, of which over 277 thousand international visitors were welcomed, an increase of 205.1% over the same period, reaching 61.7% of the yearly plan. Total revenue from tourists reached 3,112 billion VND, reaching nearly 80% of the yearly plan. The whole province has 498 tourist accommodation establishments, including 48 hotels, 270 motels, and 180 homestays that meet the standards for serving tourists.
At the conference, businesses and investors who are interested in researching and learning about tourism investment and development in the province and representatives of leaders of departments and branches discussed and pointed out the limitations that need to be overcome and made proposals and suggestions for the province to further improve competitiveness in attracting investment, production and business in the locality.
Comrade Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered a concluding speech at the conference.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the delegates' positive analysis and assessment of the investment and business environment in the tourism sector. He emphasized that Hoa Binh has sufficient conditions to develop agriculture, forestry, green energy, and renewable energy in a sustainable manner associated with environmental protection. In particular, the Hoa Binh Lake National Tourist Area will soon become a high-class tourism center in the region, of international stature. The province also expressed its determination to accompany, join hands, and stand side by side with investors and businesses with specific and clear commitments to improve the quality of the investment and business environment, and increase the province's competitiveness.
