Flowers and ornamental plants in Da Lat 'show off their colors'

(PLVN) - This morning, December 5, the People's Committee of Da Lat City ( Lam Dong Province) opened the "International Flower and Ornamental Plant Exhibition" and "Street Flower Space".

“Street Flower Space” and “International Flower and Ornamental Plant Exhibition” are 1 of 10 main programs within the framework of the 2024 Da Lat Flower Festival. The activities aim to display and introduce flower spaces, works of art, plants, flowers, bonsai, miniature rockery, and new flower trees.

The “International Flower and Ornamental Plant Exhibition” took place from December 5 to 20 at the City Flower Garden, and was a unique cultural and artistic highlight. The exhibition had 196 participating units and individuals; more than 3,000 works of flowers, bonsai, ornamental plants, miniature rockery, and nearly 300,000 flower pots and flower bags were elaborately arranged.

The exhibition features over 2,000 works of orchids, cymbidiums and new flower varieties. This is truly a space that brings together creative quintessence from all over the country and internationally.

Mr. Nguyen Van Son, Vice Chairman of Da Lat City People's Committee said: Not stopping at displaying and exhibiting, the Organizing Committee also created a meaningful playground with 4 major competitions including: Orchid Competition with 07 categories; Bonsai Flower and Ornamental Flower Competition, divided into 3 groups: small, medium and large; Beautiful display area competition and Artistic flower arrangement competition.

The exhibition has more than 2,000 orchids, cymbidiums and new flower varieties.

In addition to the international flower and ornamental plant exhibition, visitors can also immerse themselves in street flower spaces with over 20 miniature landscapes decorated in prominent areas such as: Le Dai Hanh Street, Ong Dao Bridge, around Xuan Huong Lake, Yersin Park, Tran Hung Dao Park, Nguyen Van Cu flower carpet, ... from over 500,000 flower pots of nearly 100 species.

Each flower space is a blend of color and art; the combination of fresh flowers, decorative leaves and novel models associated with the theme "Da Lat Flowers - Symphony of colors", ensuring uniqueness, attractiveness, and harmony with the natural landscape.

More than 500,000 flower pots of nearly 100 varieties are used to decorate the street flower space.

The space aims to introduce the beauty of flowers associated with the style of Da Lat people "gentle, elegant, hospitable", Lam Dong tourism "Safe, civilized, friendly", to continue to affirm Da Lat City as the Flower Festival City of Vietnam, the Creative City in the field of music of UNESCO, an attractive destination serving the people and tourists.

In addition to the flower space, the night food court at the City Flower Garden continues to be maintained, providing opportunities to enjoy the unique specialties of Da Lat.
