The incident involving Mrs. Vietnam Phương Lê altering lyrics. National Anthem The livestream broadcast is drawing widespread criticism across social media platforms. Facing a wave of outrage from the community and the public, Phuong Le has had to speak out to explain and apologize.

The Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications (DIC) stated that it will investigate the incident and cooperate with relevant agencies to handle it according to regulations.

Miss Phuong Le was born in 1979 (from Tra Vinh province). She rose to fame after winning the title of First Runner-up at the Miss Vietnamese Businesswoman of the World 2016 pageant. In 2017, Phuong Le won the Mrs. World Peace pageant.

Phuong Le's act of altering the lyrics of the national anthem has been criticized by viewers as being excessively "naive," and moreover, as showing a lack of understanding and respect for national symbols like the national anthem.

The song "Tiến quân ca" (Marching Song) was composed by musician Văn Cao in 1944. It was chosen as the national anthem of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam from August 13, 1945 to July 1, 1976, and continued to be chosen as the national anthem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from July 2, 1976.

According to the Penal Code No. 100/2015/QH13 dated November 27, 2015, enacted by the National Assembly and effective from January 1, 2018, Article 351 clearly states:

Article 351. Offense of insulting the National Flag, National Emblem, and National Anthem

Anyone who intentionally insults the national flag, national emblem, or national anthem shall be punished with a warning, non-custodial rehabilitation for up to 3 years, or imprisonment from 6 months to 3 years.

Therefore, for the crime of insulting the national flag or national anthem, the maximum prison sentence is up to 3 years.

The national anthem (along with the national flag and national emblem) is a sacred symbol of the nation, a source of national pride.

Acts of insulting the national flag or emblem, or altering or distorting the national anthem, are dangerous acts that infringe upon the dignity and sacredness of the nation and its people.

Currently, there are no specific regulations regarding administrative penalties for insulting or altering the lyrics of the national anthem. Reporters are continuing to update on the opinions of relevant authorities regarding the severity of Mrs. Vietnam Phương Lê's violation for altering the national anthem lyrics on livestream. This behavior is dangerous because it could create a negative impact on the national anthem online.
