Miss Truc Linh: Pressure is motivation
Having dreamed of becoming an architect and working in design, Miss Ha Truc Linh said that after analyzing herself, she realized her strengths and weaknesses and found it unsuitable.
“When I was in high school, I started to learn about marketing and found it suitable for me. In the future, I want to become a successful entrepreneur, contributing value to the community,” Truc Linh shared.
A few days after being crowned, Truc Linh said she felt pressured by her predecessor, Miss Thanh Thuy, but she affirmed that this was also the motivation to push herself to improve every day.
“Each person will have a different way of doing things, I will carry out my term in my own way. However, both Miss Thanh Thuy and I want to spread good values to the community and society,” Truc Linh expressed.
Meanwhile, as a female soldier wearing the crown, Chau Anh added that from the time she submitted her application to compete in Miss Vietnam 2024, she received support from her teachers and unit leaders.
“I hope I can fulfill both my military duties and my role as a new runner-up. Coming to the contest, I want to spread the image of women in the military who are disciplined, intelligent, compassionate and ready to integrate. Today, I am trying my hand at a new field, standing on the catwalk stage is a challenge, I hope to spread positive values, motivate young people to dare to challenge, dare to dream and strive to conquer their dreams,” Chau Anh shared.
Runner-up Van Nhi shared her opinion when Hai Duong province merged with her hometown Hai Phong from July 1: “The sky of any hometown is the sky of the Fatherland. Wherever we come from, we are all children of red blood and yellow skin.”
Contest "loyal" to original beauty
Miss Vietnam is a rare contest that has firmly maintained its “no plastic surgery” standard identity until now. However, after the coronation, whether the beauties had cosmetic surgery or not, former Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Head of the contest’s advisory board, journalist Le Xuan Son said that the organizing committee and advisory board had thoroughly discussed the contest’s criteria, especially the criteria for original beauty.
“In previous Miss Vietnam pageants when I was the Head of the Organizing Committee, we were under a lot of pressure because there were many opinions that contestants who had undergone cosmetic surgery should participate in the pageant. I think that Miss Vietnam should stick to the criteria of natural beauty. We do not oppose cosmetic surgery because it helps women become more beautiful and confident. But natural beauty is also very precious, there must be a pageant to honor that beauty of women,” Mr. Le Xuan Son emphasized.
The pageant’s advisor confirmed that Miss Vietnam has no rules prohibiting contestants from undergoing cosmetic surgery after their coronation. Major international pageants have also accepted cosmetic surgery. However, the organizers always welcome contestants to maintain their natural beauty.
