The expansion of Nguyen Tuan Street is scheduled to be completed in September 2025.

According to the plan, the project to expand Nguyen Tuan Street (Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi ), which is 720m long and costs nearly 400 billion VND, will be completed in September 2025.

According to a representative from the Thanh Xuan District Investment and Construction Project Management Board, many trees along the route have been relocated or cut down by the authorities. Power lines and telecommunication cables are also being moved by the Project Management Board in coordination with relevant units.

According to the Project Management Board, the main work currently being carried out by the contractor on the construction site is the construction of the wastewater drainage system. The project is being implemented in front of the Institute of Ceramics and Industrial Glass ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ).

According to this source, to date, there is still one two-story apartment building (next to the Son La Guest House) for which the compensation plan has not yet been approved.

"From now until the construction of the drainage system to that location begins, the Project Management Board will coordinate with relevant parties to complete land clearance and hand it over to the contractor for construction. The project is expected to complete the expansion by September 2025," said a leader of the Thanh Xuan District Investment and Construction Project Management Board.

Reporters from Giao Thong Newspaper observed that the contractor is mobilizing machinery and personnel to implement several aspects of the project.

The section of road next to the intersection with Nguyen Huy Tuong Street is currently fenced off with corrugated iron for construction. According to our reporter's observations, there are currently three excavators and a large amount of construction materials gathered in the area.

"Nguyen Tuan Street has always been prone to traffic congestion, and the situation has become even more serious now that a section of the road has been closed off. We hope the project will be completed on time to resolve the traffic congestion that has been occurring on this road for many years," said Ms. Nguyen Thuy, a resident of the street.

Nguyen Tuan Street is a key route in Thanh Xuan District, with a high volume of people and vehicles, which means the contractor has to ensure traffic flow while construction is underway.

The expansion of Nguyen Tuan Street will help alleviate traffic congestion in the area, improve urban planning, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Hanoi in general and Thanh Xuan District in particular.

Nguyen Tuan Street is approximately 1.1 km long, starting from Nguyen Trai Street to Le Van Luong Street, intersecting with Nguyen Huy Tuong Street. According to the latest land price list issued by the Hanoi People's Committee, the section from the beginning to the end of Nguyen Tuan Street is priced at nearly 105 million VND/m2. The project to renovate and expand Nguyen Tuan Street was approved by the Thanh Xuan District People's Committee in 2018, with a total investment of nearly 400 billion VND.

The 720m-long project, starting at the intersection with Nguyen Trai Street and ending at alley 162 Nguyen Tuan, has been widened to a 21m cross-section, including a 15m wide carriageway and 3m wide sidewalks on each side.

To implement the project to renovate and expand Nguyen Tuan Street, Thanh Xuan District will acquire and clear 14,334 square meters of land belonging to 11 organizations and 160 households and individuals. However, the Nguyen Tuan Street expansion project could not be implemented as originally planned because many households did not agree to hand over the land.

After numerous campaigns and persuasion efforts among the people, the land clearance for the expansion project of Nguyen Tuan Street was basically completed in November 2024. With the land cleared, the leaders of Thanh Xuan District People's Committee directed the Investment and Construction Project Management Board and the contractor to proceed with the construction of the project.
