Following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, regardless of their position, they always work with the highest sense of responsibility.

On May 19th, in Hanoi, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a conference to review the five-year implementation of Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW dated May 18, 2021, of the Politburo on promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style; and to commend 43 outstanding collectives and 88 outstanding individuals. Among the individuals honored was Mr. Do Thanh Nam - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Director of Sa Thay Rubber Joint Stock Company, Quang Ngai province ( thuộc Vietnam Rubber Industry Group).

Setting a good example at work.

As the head of the unit, Mr. Do Thanh Nam believes that learning from President Ho Chi Minh means doing everything with the highest sense of responsibility. With that mindset, he always sets an example and is decisive in carrying out his duties, making a significant contribution to the development of the enterprise.

A prime example is his decisive leadership, which created a breakthrough in the company's rubber processing plant construction project. "I was firm with contractors who fell behind schedule or whose work didn't meet quality standards. At the same time, I required the consulting and supervision departments to strictly perform their duties, regularly reporting on the progress and quality of each item," Mr. Nam stated.

As a result, despite being relatively new to operation, the factory's products consistently meet high quality standards, are sold at good prices in both domestic and international markets, and generate significant profits for the company.

Mr. Nam also consistently seeks new solutions to enhance the reputation and competitiveness of the enterprise. A prime example is his direct involvement in developing trial production models and guiding the selection of rubber tree varieties suitable for the climate and soil conditions of each sub-region. This ensures that the replanting cycle yields high-yielding varieties that are appropriate for the local context. Furthermore, he directs the professional department to plan and create opportunities for employees to develop supplementary economic activities , improve their income, and feel secure in their work.

In addition to ensuring salaries and benefits, the company also pays special attention to healthcare, improving working conditions, eliminating occupational disease risks, and fully implementing regulations for strenuous and hazardous work for employees. Every year, the company organizes health check-ups for its entire workforce with a budget exceeding 2 billion VND.

Mr. Nam also places great emphasis on training. According to Mr. Ta Thuc Binh, Chairman of the company's Trade Union, the company's leadership has implemented many solutions to improve the skills of employees through training courses and professional development programs, helping workers meet production requirements in the new situation.

In particular, the company focuses on building a strong local workforce, paying attention to female employees and those from ethnic minorities, creating motivation for employees to strive and develop. "The care and support of the company's leadership, including Mr. Nam, has helped employees have stable jobs, and their income and living standards have gradually improved," Mr. Binh said.

Continuously innovating

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngan - Team Leader of Wastewater Treatment at the 30/4 Processing Plant, Binh Long Rubber Company Limited - is also one of the exemplary individuals who have studied and followed President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, and has been commended by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Ms. Ngan expressed: "As a young engineer, I learn from President Ho Chi Minh the spirit of proactiveness in work, continuous learning, creativity, and a willingness to share." She has demonstrated this throughout her nearly nine years with the unit.

From a worker position, she has now become a team leader, directly managing and operating the factory's wastewater treatment system, ensuring continuous and stable operation and preventing environmental incidents.

Throughout her work, she has consistently sought and researched solutions to reduce production costs and improve operational efficiency. Many useful initiatives have emerged, most notably the project on treating wastewater without using chemicals and recycling it for earthworm farming.

The project, after being implemented at the factory, has yielded high economic efficiency, with a profit of approximately 922 million VND per year; at the same time, it has reduced the impact on the health of workers by eliminating their frequent exposure to chemicals.

Another initiative is to utilize nutrient-rich wastewater from the block latex wastewater treatment system to supplement the centrifugal latex wastewater treatment system. This solution helps reduce the use of industrial ethanol chemicals, limit odors, and save the factory hundreds of millions of VND annually.

Not only does she actively participate in emulation and innovation movements launched by the Trade Union and the Youth Union, but Ms. Ngan is also dedicated to social welfare activities.

As the Secretary of the Factory's Youth Union, she has advised and organized many practical initiatives related to studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, focusing on the community and workers in difficult circumstances, such as the "Tet for the Poor" program, which provides approximately 50 gifts each year to disadvantaged workers; and projects like "Green Recycling Bins," "Youth Tree Planting," "Volunteer Saturday," and "Green Sunday"...

Politburo member, Central Committee Secretary, and Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Trinh Van Quyet, emphasized that tens of thousands of exemplary individuals and groups have emerged from emulation movements. The 131 outstanding collectives and individuals honored by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor are beautiful flowers in the garden of learning and following Uncle Ho's teachings, vividly demonstrating the simple yet profound truth: great things always begin with simple, practical, and responsible actions.

Respected and appreciated by the workforce.

What makes Mr. Do Thanh Nam so beloved by the workforce is that he always listens to and incorporates feedback through dialogue and strives to improve the lives of the workers. According to him, 77% of the company's workforce consists of ethnic minorities, mainly living and working in remote, mountainous, and border areas. Therefore, in addition to focusing on political and ideological education, the company also continuously improves its welfare policies.
