With a proactive and responsible spirit, Dong Thap province launched the program on May 25th, with the determination to provide health check-ups and screenings for approximately 1.9 million people in 2026.
During a visit to monitor the implementation at Cao Lanh 1 Regional Health Center and Tinh Thoi Kindergarten in Cao Lanh ward, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan acknowledged the proactive spirit of the health sector and related units in preparing and organizing the program.
According to the plan, Dong Thap province aims to ensure that 100% of individuals as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 70 of Government Decree No. 165/2026/ND-CP dated May 15, 2026, receive free periodic health check-ups or screenings at least once a year.
Observations in Cao Lanh ward show that the examination process was meticulously prepared and followed regulations; the medical staff provided attentive guidance, facilitating the examination process for residents. Many residents expressed their delight at having access to free medical services right in their locality.
During the program, residents received examinations including eye, ear, nose and throat checkups, ultrasounds, and blood tests. After the examinations, residents' information was updated in their electronic health records. Through these health checkups, many residents were screened for and had common diseases detected early, allowing for timely intervention and treatment, reducing the burden of medical costs, increasing the chances of recovery, and minimizing complications.
At the same time, it helps raise awareness and form habits among people in proactively taking care of their own health and that of their families.
During the inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan, along with relevant agencies and units, cordially inquired about the well-being of the people undergoing health check-ups; at the same time, he emphasized that this is a policy with profound humanitarian significance, contributing to improving the quality of life and ensuring social security.
In addition, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also noted that relevant units must ensure professional quality and a dedicated and attentive service attitude; and prepare sufficient human resources, equipment, medicines, and medical supplies to best serve the people, especially the elderly and vulnerable groups.
