The GREAT scholarship provides opportunities for Vietnamese students to pursue postgraduate programs in the UK starting in the fall of 2026.
Six universities have partnered with the British Council and the UK government 's GREAT Britain campaign to award six scholarships as part of the campaign. These universities are: Brunel University London; City University St George's; University of London; King's Business School; Nottingham Trent University; Teesside University; and the University of Aberdeen.
The GREAT scholarship program aims to expand access to UK education in Vietnam and celebrate the diversity of UK educational institutions, offering a wide range of courses for students. With over 3,000 Vietnamese students choosing to study in the UK each year, the GREAT scholarship program builds on strong links between the UK and Vietnam, always welcoming Vietnamese students to study in the UK.

Each scholarship is worth a minimum of £10,000 for a postgraduate course in the UK for the 2026-27 academic year. Students intending to apply for the scholarship must have an offer of admission from one of the participating universities and meet all entry requirements for their chosen course as specified by each university.
In the 2025-26 academic year, ten Vietnamese students received GREAT scholarships and are studying in the UK in fields such as Banking and Finance Law (LLM), International Business Administration, Computer Science, Sustainable Leadership and Management, Applied Linguistics, Air Transport Management, Business Analytics: Operations Research and Risk Analysis, Economics and Finance for Development, Human Rights Law (LLM), and Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL). To date, a total of 29 Vietnamese scholars have studied in the UK under the GREAT scholarship program since 2021.
