The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued Circular 37/2026 stipulating the list of specialized fields and professions in the arts and sports sectors.
The most notable point of the circular is its emphasis on a system of eight criteria for identifying specialized industries and professions. Among these, some industries and professions with small training scales but significant contributions to the preservation and promotion of cultural and artistic values need to be maintained.

According to Mr. Trong Bao, Director of Crowbar Art Education Co., Ltd., Circular 37 is absolutely necessary and appropriate to the current situation. The nature of arts disciplines is different from general education or conventional technical training.
The most distinctive feature of art lies in the element of talent, the long training period, the high intensity of practice, and the requirement for training directly linked to performance, stage presence, artistic appreciation, and practical skills.
"Fields like dance, music , acting, directing, or street art… cannot be evaluated solely by theory or rigid curriculum. Students must have a continuous practical environment, receive personalized training, and have opportunities for early professional experience," Mr. Bao analyzed.

Regarding job opportunities, Ms. Trinh Thu Yen, representative of Starlento Co., Ltd. - a company specializing in connecting employers and talents in the Vietnamese entertainment industry, commented that some art and sports sectors are experiencing more opportunities for expansion thanks to the development of the creative industry and digital platforms.
According to Ms. Yen, the most obvious trend is the integration of art with the digital environment, such as building personal channels, creating content, branding, or livestreaming. This is followed by industries that intersect art and modern technology, such as media production, game design, stage engineering, and graphic design.
However, for sectors focused on preserving traditional cultural and artistic values, such as traditional dance and folk musical instruments, recruitment remains quite limited, largely dependent on public institutions.
"Society is changing its perspective on art. Art is no longer just a passion but has become a creative economic sector capable of creating jobs, building personal brands, and making a significant contribution to society," Mr. Trong Bao emphasized.
