(NLĐO) - Representatives of Brooklyn Primary and Secondary School (District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) have admitted to errors in their advertising.

On the afternoon of December 11th, a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper had a meeting with representatives from Brooklyn Elementary and Middle School.

During the meeting, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Cam, introduced as the school's administrator, and Mr. Tong Van Dang, in charge of the school's infrastructure management, stated that the school is in the process of applying for an educational operating license and student enrollment. "Currently, nothing has been approved yet," they affirmed.

Following reports that the school had conducted enrollment and that students had actually enrolled despite not yet being licensed to operate an educational institution, a school representative stated that the students were only visiting the school's facilities.

Acknowledging shortcomings in advertising and inappropriate advertising practices, Mr. Tong Van Dang stated that local authorities and relevant agencies have already worked with and issued administrative penalties for violations in the field of advertising.

According to the representative, the school has also made commitments and paid the fines as required. "All issues such as operating licenses and licenses for international joint training programs are only preliminary plans, operational demonstrations, and are currently in the application process," the representative stated.

Currently, the school is undergoing repairs and renovations to meet fire safety regulations. Regarding the errors, such as incorrect school name and banners, the school will revert to its registered name or make adjustments if it wishes to use a different name.

When the reporter reiterated that the parents had provided accurate information about students already enrolled, the person stated that running the school required significant preparation time, and therefore the school was only... borrowing students so that teachers could familiarize themselves with the teaching process.

Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper, despite not having been granted an educational operating license, Brooklyn Elementary and Middle School was still advertising enrollment and had already enrolled students.

Confirming with the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Head of the Education and Training Department of District 10, stated that Brooklyn Primary and Secondary School does not yet have an educational operating license.

According to our investigation, the investor of Brooklyn Primary and Secondary School is New Era Education Investment Co., Ltd. However, according to Decision No. 5855 dated October 28, 2024, of the People's Committee of District 10, New Era Education Investment Co., Ltd. is the investor of Suoi Linh Primary and Secondary School (located on Hoang Du Khuong Street, District 10). Nevertheless, the enrollment banners at the beginning of the street and in front of the school bear the name Brooklyn.
