At 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (May 18), the Science and Technology Admissions Day program, organized by Tien Phong newspaper in collaboration with other units, will welcome students with many interesting activities.

About 5,000 students from 30 high schools in Hanoi and their teachers will participate in the activities. One of the highlights of the program is that students can experience 9 modern laboratories and discover surprises.

The labs are divided into topics for students to choose from including:

Smart building control operation

In this topic, students can learn the general concept of energy saving; the concept and basic components of smart buildings as well as the programming system for controlling and monitoring the use of the Internet of Things in smart buildings.

In particular, students will be guided by university lecturers to practice measuring parameters through sensor systems, learn about control programming systems as well as how devices communicate with each other.

In this special experiential class, students will enter the world of modern technology with basic knowledge about energy saving, structure and operation of smart buildings. Not only learning theory, students will practice measuring system parameters with sensors, learn how devices "communicate" with each other through Internet of Things (IoT) technology, and experience system control programming.

Explore lane-following autonomous vehicle technology

The experiential class “Discovering Lane-Following Self-Driving Car Technology” will help students understand this through interesting knowledge and practical activities.

In this class, students will learn about basic sensors such as IMU, camera, lidar, how actuators work, and image processing principles for lane recognition. In particular, they will directly collect data, program and deploy autonomous vehicle models running on a simulated lane tracking track. This is an ideal experience for young people who love technology, artificial intelligence and automatic control.

Robot Control

Students are divided into groups to learn about industrial robots; practice motion control, object recognition and robot balancing.

Students get hands-on experience controlling robots.

The “Robot Control” experiential class will help students explore the world of automation in a visual and vivid way. Here, they will be introduced to common types of robots in industry, learn how robots perform tasks such as moving, recognizing objects and maintaining balance.

In particular, students will directly control robots to perform basic operations, thereby better understanding the operating principles and practical applications of robot technology. This will be an interesting experience class for young people who love control engineering, automation and smart manufacturing technology.

Aerodynamic experience

In the Aerodynamics Experience Class, students will be introduced to the basic concepts of aerodynamics, the principles of lift of aircraft wings, and directly participate in simulations to observe the interaction between air flow and the surface of an object. Through this, they will understand how lift is created and the important role of aerodynamic design in the aviation industry. An ideal space for those who love applied physics, aviation technology and the principles of motion in nature.

Experience Mixing Hand Sanitizer Solution According to Available Formula and Bottling It Up to Take Home. This helps students understand and experience the process of making hand sanitizer according to standard scientific formula, learn how to measure, mix ingredients in the right proportions, and especially bottling it themselves and taking the product home to use.

Or the class to experience measuring sugar content in beverage products. Students participating in the program can bring any beverage product to the lab, experts will use tools in the lab to measure the sugar content in the product. From there, help students understand more about beverage products to make the right choice for their health.

In addition, students can also choose labs with topics: Measuring EEG and exploring body health indicators; Manufacturing artificial gold crystals...

The Science and Technology Admissions Fair took place at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, 18 Hoang Quoc Viet, Nghia Do Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.

The program is organized by Tien Phong newspaper with the direction and coordination of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH)...
