Participants include agencies, units, localities, businesses, schools, village/neighborhood cultural centers, and historical sites within the city; especially those units with offices located on main roads or in areas of local community cultural activity.
The deadline for registration to participate in the competition is January 20, 2025 (corresponding to the 21st day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Dragon). The pole-erecting period will be from January 22 to 28, 2025 (23rd to 29th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Dragon), and will continue until February 4, 2025 (the 7th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Snake).
The organizing committee will select the winners and plans to finalize the results and award prizes on February 7, 2025 (the 10th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Snake).
Localities that initiate and organize the competition, with many participating units and high-quality entries, will also be recommended for awards. In addition, Hoi An City will also organize an exhibition of images showcasing the New Year's pole erection activities over the years.
The competition aims to preserve and promote the tradition of erecting the New Year's pole; contribute to a more joyful and vibrant atmosphere at the beginning of the year in the city; and introduce the unique cultural features of Hoi An to domestic and international tourists.
