Mr. Dang Van Hoc, Chairman of the Ha Long Ward Veterans Association, said: Immediately after the merger, the Association has completed the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and Inspection Committee to ensure effective operations. The Association currently has 27 affiliated branches and 1,622 members.
Promoting the role of the War Veterans Force, the Association organizes many movements associated with political tasks and local practices, notably the environmental protection movement. The Association encourages members to actively participate in "Green Sunday", clean up trash, plant trees, beautify streets and residential areas, contributing to creating a green - clean - beautiful urban appearance, raising community awareness of environmental protection.
The Ha Long Ward Environmental Protection Veterans Club regularly organizes cleaning of public areas, especially coastal areas. In July 2025, the Club launched a campaign to collect waste along the coastline (about 1km long) from the Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace to the Provincial Museum and Library, keeping the landscape clean and beautiful at a popular tourist attraction.
The club also coordinated with the Youth Union, Women's Union, and Elderly Association to mobilize 90 members to participate in cleaning Hon Gai Beach - a place often affected by waste in the summer. These activities not only contribute to environmental protection, but also spread the message of green living in the community.
Veteran Nguyen Kim Tung (War Veterans Association, Zone 2B) shared: Participating in cleaning the sea helps us clearly see our responsibility in environmental protection. This is also a way to promote the people and tourists to join hands to preserve the blue sea.
The Ward Veterans Association also actively participates in sports , cultural and artistic activities, building a rich spiritual life for members. Responding to the running movement to welcome the Ha Long Ward Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, the Association sent 57 members with good health and active physical exercise to participate; 50 other members participated in the welcoming art program with a male-female choir performance, songs praising the Party, Uncle Ho, and the homeland.
The Ward Veterans Association pays special attention to political and ideological work. The Association's Executive Committee organizes the study and implementation of Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the Politburo, continues to promote the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation...
The Association maintains the activities of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Team in Hong Ha 4 area and 27 self-managed security and order teams with veterans as the core. These models play an important role in maintaining security and order at the grassroots level, especially during holidays and major events of the province.
The Association of War Veterans of Ha Long Ward is affirming its role as a core force, contributing to building the ward to be increasingly civilized and modern, worthy of being the administrative - political center of the province in the new development stage.
