The program continues to be organized using a model that combines books, art, folk games, creative activities, and Vietnamese cultural experiences within a modern urban setting. After many editions, the Nighttime Book and Culture Festival has gradually become a familiar meeting place for book and culture lovers in Ho Chi Minh City.
Inspired by the vibrant rhythm of urban summer life, "Urban Street Festival" is designed as a cultural street with diverse experiential spaces. The public can participate in traditional art activities, explore cuisine , experience handicrafts, and enjoy folk games right in the heart of the city.

Within the framework of the festival, many outstanding activities took place throughout the three days. On the evening of May 23rd, a performance of traditional Vietnamese opera and folk music by the Ho Chi Minh City Traditional Opera Theatre (from 5 PM to 7 PM) was held.
In addition, the program "The Legacy of Southern Traditional Music - Heritage and Continuation" (from 7 PM to 8 PM) will share stories about the legacy of Southern traditional music, the journey of preserving and promoting the value of Southern folk music - a UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

On May 24th, there are two main activities: From 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, there will be a workshop called "The Art of Paper Making," offering a hands-on experience in making traditional paper flowers under the guidance of artisans. In the evening, there will be a performance of traditional Vietnamese opera and folk music in the Book Street area at night.
Earlier, on the evening of May 22nd, the public participated in the interactive game "Seasons of Sweet Feasts," exploring the sweet culinary culture of Vietnam. The talk show "Vietnamese Essence in Product Concept" also presented many stories about the journey of bringing inspiration from local ingredients into products embodying the spirit of contemporary Vietnam.
Besides the main stage, the festival also offers many cultural and creative experience spaces such as the "Sweet Street" with traditional folk dishes, the "Craft Street" with traditional craft workshops, and the "Summer Creative Market" featuring many products applying Vietnamese culture.

The space dedicated to traditional folk games such as bamboo pole jumping, O An Quan (a board game), monkey bridge walking, sack racing, and blindfolded pot smashing also creates a lively atmosphere, attracting many families and children to participate.
In addition, the program also features a creative reading space for children with an open library model, creative storytelling, and bilingual storytelling.
In particular, the "Vietnamese Pop-up Culture Hub," making its debut at the event, introduces a space that connects traditional values with the spirit of Vietnamese cultural adaptation in modern life.
The organizers expect the 5th Nighttime Book and Culture Festival to continue to be a distinctive cultural event in Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to building a vibrant, youthful, and creative community space at night during the summer of 2026.
