From providing exam preparation support and psychological counseling to mobilizing resources to support meals, drinks, and pens, everything is aimed at ensuring that no student has to miss the exam due to economic difficulties or transportation problems.

Supporting students in disadvantaged areas.

In many mountainous areas of Quang Tri province, a significant number of students still face difficulties and material shortages during the exam season. To help students feel secure during the upcoming exams, at A Tuc High School (Lia commune), preparations for the "Exam Support Program" in 2026 have been underway. The school has assigned the Youth Union to develop a plan to support, guide, and assist students before, during, and after the high school graduation exam.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Luan, Secretary of the Youth Union of A Tuc High School, this year the school has more than 130 12th-grade students. The majority of them are from the Van Kieu and Pa Ko ethnic groups, and therefore face many economic difficulties.

To help students confidently enter the exam, the school directed the subject departments, teachers, and student union members to strengthen the tutoring and support for students during the review period. Along with academics, the school's student union developed various support plans before, during, and after the exam.

In the period leading up to the high school graduation exam, the school intensified its communication activities for the "Exam Support Program" through various information channels. The school's student union proactively implemented many methods to receive, review, and summarize the support needs of students from disadvantaged backgrounds in order to develop appropriate support plans.

In addition, the school is calling for resources to support students with learning materials, meals, drinks, and lunch breaks; and is organizing career guidance, psychological counseling, health and food safety counseling activities for students before the exam.

During the exam period, the Student Union implemented activities to support candidates and their families, such as providing transportation for students from disadvantaged backgrounds and remote areas; and providing drinking water, snacks, and stationery for the exam.

Volunteer teams were also deployed in crowded areas to assist with traffic management, ensure security and order, and maintain traffic safety in the examination area. They also coordinated with relevant authorities to prevent negative incidents affecting candidates, such as the distribution of unauthorized materials, disruption of public order, theft, and fraud.

“For this year's exam, the school is connecting with charitable organizations to provide breakfast, lunch, and drinks for students participating in the exam. For students from disadvantaged backgrounds, the school's Youth Union and teachers are visiting them to gather information and provide timely support. The goal is to ensure that no student misses the exam due to difficulties,” shared teacher Le Thanh Luan.

At Dakrong High School (Huong Hiep commune), where there are approximately 240 12th-grade students from the Van Kieu and Pa Ko ethnic minority groups, student support programs are planned and implemented with many specific activities.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Secretary of the Youth Union of Dakrong High School, said that to ensure students can participate in the High School Graduation Examination with peace of mind, the school has called on benefactors to provide meals and drinks for students during the exam days.

The school's Youth Union also organized a mobile volunteer team to transport students to the exam site on time. For students without transportation, Youth Union members would go directly to their homes to take them to the exam.

In addition to providing support during exam season, teachers regularly monitor students' circumstances to offer appropriate encouragement and assistance. At the end of the school year, during holidays, or before exams, many gifts are also given to boost students' morale.

To prepare for this year's exam, the Dakrong High School Student Union also issued an open letter calling for the support of parents, teachers, alumni, and philanthropists to provide drinking water, small cartons of milk, breakfast, lunch, and calculators for students.

Spreading the spirit of "Supporting students during exam season"

Not only in schools, the "Supporting Students During Exams" program in 2026, developed by the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union, includes many activities to support students before, during, and after the high school graduation exam. One of the key focuses before the exam is organizing activities to support revision, such as "Tips for achieving high scores," and free courses and exam preparation for students.

Simultaneously, the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union is implementing activities to provide admissions counseling, career guidance, and study abroad counseling through both in-person and online channels. The Youth Union also focuses on psychological counseling, stabilizing students' spirits, and providing "spiritual support" before the exams.

During the exam period, the Provincial Youth Union, in coordination with local authorities, medical facilities, and high schools, will review the situation of candidates to develop plans for handling unusual situations such as bad weather, accidents, or health problems. Volunteer teams will provide free transportation for students with special difficulties, students from remote areas, and students with disabilities.

Simultaneously, the Provincial Youth Union coordinated with relevant agencies to prevent negative phenomena such as the distribution of illegal materials, price gouging, disruption of public order and security, theft, fraud, or traffic safety issues during the examination period.

The Standing Committee of the Youth Union in communes, wards, and affiliated units is also required to proactively establish volunteer teams at examination sites; prioritizing support for students in remote areas, border regions, and areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions.

Youth Union branches are tasked with surveying and understanding the support needs of students; reviewing the list of disadvantaged candidates to implement appropriate and effective forms of support. At the same time, they will strengthen the mobilization of social resources to better serve the exam support activities in 2026.

For the 2026 high school graduation exam, Quang Tri province has nearly 22,000 registered candidates. The province plans to set up over 60 examination centers, mobilizing more than 3,500 officials, teachers, staff, police officers, and medical personnel to participate in the organization of the exam. At each examination center, a volunteer team of approximately 15-20 youth union members will be deployed to support and assist candidates.
