However, by the morning of May 25th, due to intense heat combined with strong southwest winds, the fire reignited and spread to many different locations.

Smoke and flames engulfed the coastal forest amidst hot weather and strong winds, making firefighting efforts extremely difficult.

The People's Committee of Ninh Chau commune, in coordination with the Dong Hoi and Coastal Protection Forest Management Board and the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police force of Quang Tri province, mobilized more than 350 people including police, military , forest rangers, border guards, militia and local people to participate in extinguishing the fire.

Firefighting efforts faced numerous difficulties due to high temperatures, strong winds, thick, dry undergrowth, and easily flammable vegetation on sandy ground. In addition, the fire area was far from a water source, making it time-consuming to replenish water supplies for firefighting.

By approximately 6 PM on May 25th, the fire was largely under control.

Firefighters extinguished smoldering embers and prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent forest areas.
