On the evening of May 25th, leaders of Ninh Chau commune People's Committee, Quang Tri province, stated that functional forces are still on standby at the scene of the coastal protection forest fire in Tan Dinh village to prevent the fire from reigniting.

Initial reports indicate the fire was discovered on the evening of May 24th in a coastal acacia forest located between Ninh Chau and Quang Ninh communes. Upon receiving the report, local authorities and relevant agencies quickly deployed firefighting efforts.
However, by the morning of May 25th, due to intense heat combined with strong southwest winds, the fire reignited and spread to many different locations.

The People's Committee of Ninh Chau commune, in coordination with the Dong Hoi and Coastal Protection Forest Management Board and the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police force of Quang Tri province, mobilized more than 350 people including police, military , forest rangers, border guards, militia and local people to participate in extinguishing the fire.
Firefighting efforts faced numerous difficulties due to high temperatures, strong winds, thick, dry undergrowth, and easily flammable vegetation on sandy ground. In addition, the fire area was far from a water source, making it time-consuming to replenish water supplies for firefighting.
By approximately 6 PM on May 25th, the fire was largely under control.

Speaking with a reporter from Vietnam Law Newspaper, a representative of the Dong Hoi and Quang Tri Coastal Protection Forest Management Board said that as of 8:30 PM on May 25th, functional forces were still on standby at the scene to promptly handle any re-ignition of the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the authorities. The forest management unit is continuing to compile statistics on the area and damage caused by the fire.
