Sharing the "Green Dream"
The story begins with a girl with long hair and fair skin named Tran Thu Yen Nhi (born in 1997), residing in Dong Hoi ward. Two years ago, Nhi was still undecided about her career choice. After graduating from the Vietnam College of Dance, she found a suitable job. However, Nhi knew that with this choice, she would find it difficult to realize her bigger dream of helping the poor improve their livelihoods and stabilize their lives. After much deliberation, Nhi finally turned to agriculture .
"From my family's pilot project, I've found that bamboo shoots are very suitable for the climate and soil of my hometown. This plant not only brings high economic value but also contributes to environmental protection and combating climate change. This could be a poverty-alleviating crop," Nhi remarked.

After taking a bold step, in her initial endeavors, Yen Nhi found five like-minded companions: Hoang Tan Thin, Luu Thanh Dat, Hoang Trung Duc, Tran Thi Hong Suong, and Le Thi Thanh Thuy. Each of them possessed unique strengths. In particular, Duc, Suong, and Thuy studied agriculture and forestry and had previously worked on various agricultural projects. Like Nhi, they aspired to prosper from their homeland's land to have the opportunity to help more people.
However, starting a business is not a one-size-fits-all problem. When they started, Nhi and her friends had to find their own way of doing things. They researched seed quality, experimented with various cultivation methods, and sought out and applied advanced technology… They learned as they went along, quickly establishing a standardized process.
A breakthrough through high-tech agriculture.
From their experience, Yen Nhi and her friends realized that bamboo shoots grown organically tend to grow and develop well, yielding quite high productivity. Considered the "king of bamboo shoots," this product is highly favored by many. This motivated the group of young people to boldly collaborate and expand their bamboo shoot cultivation area to 21 hectares. In 2024, they established the Bamovina Organic Agriculture Cooperative. From then on, production and business became more convenient.
Following a group of young people to the newly established bamboo shoot cultivation area in Nam Trach commune, we were struck by the sight of a fertile, lush green landscape. Looking at it, no one would imagine that this was once a barren, overgrown area. Revealing the transformation, Le Thi Thanh Thuy (born in 1992) explained that they implemented numerous solutions, with a particular focus on applying high technology. From the very beginning, a drip irrigation system using technology from Israel was put into use. Monthly, group members use modern equipment to measure and monitor soil parameters. The management of the vast bamboo shoot area is primarily done using drones. “Investing in high technology is quite expensive. Meanwhile, the group’s capital is limited. We had to struggle with the decision a lot. We’re happy that we invested in the right direction,” Thanh Thuy recounted.

Later, the application of high technology to bamboo shoot cultivation helped the young people at Bamovina Organic Agricultural Cooperative gain more confidence when participating in the 4th "Creative Startup" competition organized by the Provincial Youth Union. At the competition, the group impressed with their project, which had "blossomed" in practice. In particular, their diligent research and application of high technology earned them many extra points. As a result, the Organizing Committee of the 4th "Creative Startup" competition unanimously awarded second prize to the young people from Bamovina Organic Agricultural Cooperative.
Multiply the joy
Besides the award presented by the Provincial Youth Union, another great joy for the young people is that the bamboo shoot product of Bamovina Organic Agricultural Cooperative has found a place in the market. Many owners of clean agricultural product stores, supermarkets, etc., trust and choose the product. Customers in major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi , etc., have also contacted the cooperative to place large orders. Building on this success, the young people have diversified their products with sweet and sour bamboo shoots, steamed bamboo shoots, dried bamboo shoots, and more.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy An, Store Manager of An Nong Clean Food Store, said: “At An Nong, we always strive to select the best products to bring to our customers. That's why the bamboo shoots from Bamovina Organic Agricultural Cooperative are on our shelves. Over the past time, many customers have used the product and given very positive feedback.”
The initial success has helped the young people at the Bamovina Organic Agricultural Cooperative to partially realize their aspirations. Currently, the cooperative is home to more than 10 workers. Mr. Lam Van Hung, residing in Ba Don commune, shared: “Before, I worked as a construction laborer. It was hard work with unstable income. Since joining the cooperative, I have found a job that is more suitable for my age and health. My monthly income is about 10 million VND.”
Despite their initial successes, the young people of the Bamovina Organic Agricultural Cooperative are not yet satisfied. Day after day, they continue to work diligently with their bamboo groves and shoots to conquer higher goals. Everyone hopes that their small story will inspire and help ignite the flame of creative entrepreneurship in other young people.
