The workshop attracted the participation of representatives of central agencies, local authorities, scientific organizations, tourism businesses and local communities.
The workshop aimed to gather expert opinions to complete the project on developing ecotourism in Ta Dung National Park, aiming to sustainably exploit natural and cultural potential, preserve biodiversity and promote the local economy .
In his opening speech, Director of Ta Dung National Park Khuong Thanh Long emphasized: Ta Dung is a land rich in natural resources, a place where the cultural identities of more than 40 ethnic groups living in Dak Nong converge. The development of ecotourism contributes to improving the livelihoods of local people, while protecting the forest ecosystem.
Ta Dung National Park was established in 2018 and currently manages more than 19,800 hectares of special-use and production forests. The area is famous for Ta Dung Lake, known as the “Ha Long Bay of the Central Highlands”.
In addition, Ta Dung National Park has many beautiful waterfalls such as: Sun Waterfall, Granite Waterfall, Seven-storey Waterfall and rare flora and fauna.
The draft ecotourism project focuses on items such as developing trekking routes, building environmentally friendly resorts, ecological education centers and experiencing indigenous culture.
The project proposes a mechanism for payment of forest environmental services, thereby increasing the economic value of forests and reducing pressure on unsustainable resource exploitation.
According to Director of Ta Dung National Park Khuong Thanh Long, the workshop introduced and listened to the project content and comments from delegates. The comments are important, helping the Ta Dung National Park Management Board and the consulting unit to remove difficulties and obstacles.
The units will add more ideas and good initiatives to continue perfecting the Ecotourism, Resort and Entertainment Project of Ta Dung National Park Management Board.
The Organizing Committee of the workshop hopes that, once approved, the project will help shape the strategy for ecotourism development in Dak Nong, turning it into an attractive destination while ensuring a balance between economic development and nature conservation.
