On the evening of October 12, the closing ceremony of the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi took place solemnly at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Center.
Over 3 days of organization (October 10-12), the festival achieved great success, attracting more than 1 million visitors to experience international culture.

Attending the program were Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ngo Le Van, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen and representatives of domestic and foreign units.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the festival, Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized the importance of culture in the national development strategy.
The Minister affirmed: “Sustainable, creative and inclusive development has become the goal of many countries in the world, and Vietnam is no exception. The Vietnamese government has identified sustainable development based on cultural development, with human beings as the foundation.”

The Minister also stated that Vietnam is an active and responsible member of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), always upholding the tradition of loving peace, considering the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values as a way to pay tribute to tradition and ensure the development rights of future generations.
According to the Minister, the first World Cultural Festival is a vivid proof of the above statement. This festival originated from the initiative of Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary To Lam, to organize a cultural event of international stature in the capital Hanoi.
On the opening day of October 10, the festival welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend and give a speech.

During the 3 days, the festival gathered the participation of 48 countries and international organizations, with many unique cultural spaces and events such as the Cultural Road exhibition, Heritage Footsteps performance and Ao Dai Festival , film screenings, book festivals and 30 international art performances...
Minister Nguyen Van Hung commented that the festival has been successful in creating a space to introduce and promote the diversity and richness of cultures; strengthening cooperation between countries on culture in accordance with UNESCO's principles and affirming the pioneering role of culture in promoting international cooperation.
With the message "The world beats together with love", the festival's organizing committee held an auction and charity donation program with a total revenue of 2.5 billion VND.
All funds raised will be transferred to localities in Vietnam that suffered damage due to floods, to support the reconstruction of people's lives. This spreads a strong message about the spirit of sharing and resilience of the Vietnamese people.

At the end of his speech, Minister Nguyen Van Hung expressed his deep gratitude to all individuals and organizations that contributed to the success of the event.
