Meeting of Steering Committee 818 on development of science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06

On May 15, the Steering Committee 818 of Son La province held a conference to deploy key tasks in the fields of science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation and implementation of Project 06 of the Government. Comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Permanent Deputy Head of the Steering Committee 818 chaired the meeting. Attending the conference were members of the Steering Committee 818; leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and units; People's Committees of districts, towns and cities.

At the Conference, Decision No. 818/QD-UBND dated April 10, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman on the establishment of the Steering Committee was approved; promulgating the operating regulations of the Steering Committee and assigning tasks to members of the Steering Committee on science , technology development, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06 in the province. Implementing Resolution No. 71/NQ-CP dated April 1, 2025 of the Government; Plan No. 333-KH/TU dated May 7, 2025 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on breakthroughs in science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; approving the draft Plan of the Provincial People's Committee to implement Resolution No. 71/NQ-CP dated April 1, 2025 and Plan No. 333-KH/TU dated May 7, 2025 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee.

The conference also approved the guiding documents of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Provincial People's Committee on Vietnam Science and Technology Day in 2025; announced the orientation of additional scientific and technological research tasks in 2025, tasks in 2026; reported on honoring and praising scientific and technological research topics in the province with high achievements and winning the first Son La Provincial Science and Technology Award in 2024; draft Work Plan for 2025 of Steering Committee 818.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "Science, technology and digital transformation are important pillars in the socio -economic development of the province". He requested the members of Steering Committee 818 (according to Decision No. 818/QD-UBND dated April 10, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman on the establishment of the Steering Committee of the Son La Provincial People's Committee on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06) on the basis of assigned functions, tasks and powers, to proactively develop work programs and plans; develop and supplement the action plans of the assigned sectors, fields and localities to ensure they are suitable to the practical situation; perform well the assigned tasks, propose solutions to overcome difficulties and problems, and tasks arising in the implementation process. At the same time, it is required that departments, branches, units, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities direct the promotion of information and propaganda activities on the viewpoints, guidelines and policies of the Party and State on digital transformation, science and technology development, and innovation to raise awareness, create consensus and synchronization in implementation, contributing to the building of digital government, digital economy, digital society, meeting the requirements of sustainable development in the new period.
