Occupational safety and health training

(CT) - On June 1st, in Truong Xuan commune, the Department of Internal Affairs of Can Tho City, in coordination with the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry - Ho Chi Minh City Branch, inaugurated a training course on occupational safety and hygiene for workers not employed under labor contracts.

According to Mr. Tieu Minh Duong, Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Affairs of Can Tho City, the training course aims to equip workers with knowledge and skills to identify risks, prevent occupational accidents and diseases, and protect their health and lives during the labor and production process.

The training course attracted nearly 100 freelance workers from Ninh Kieu and Long Tuyen wards, and Truong Xuan and Dai Hai communes. Over three days, the workers were briefed on regulations regarding occupational safety and hygiene; guided on identifying hazardous and harmful factors in the workplace; taught safe use of electricity, machinery, equipment, and personal protective equipment; and provided first aid for workplace accidents and occupational disease prevention and control.
