This is the first time Thua Thien Hue province has issued an official document specifying the amount of gifts to be given during the Lunar New Year. According to the resolution, the gift amount will be determined based on the individual's position, title, and contributions, with a value of 1-3 million VND per person for each visit.
It is estimated that Thua Thien Hue province will spend approximately 2.2 billion VND annually from its provincial budget on giving gifts during the Lunar New Year.
According to the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Council, in recent years, the provincial leadership has organized meetings with former Party and State leaders, provincial leaders from various periods, intellectuals, journalists, and outstanding individuals on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.
However, the lack of regulations governing the system and policies regarding Tet gift-giving has created difficulties for agencies, units, and localities in the implementation process.
