(Dan Tri) - Before issuing the resolution, Thua Thien Hue province did not have regulations on giving gifts to former provincial leaders, outstanding intellectuals and dignitaries on the occasion of Lunar New Year.
At the 9th regular session of the People's Council of Thua Thien Hue province, term 8, 2021-2026, delegates unanimously passed a Resolution regulating the level of gift spending on the occasion of Lunar New Year.
The subjects of application of the Resolution include former Party and State leaders living in Thua Thien Hue, provincial leaders of all periods, intellectuals, journalists, and individuals who have contributed to the process of building and developing the province's economy and society.

This is the first time Thua Thien Hue province has issued an official document, specifically regulating the level of gifts for the occasion of Lunar New Year. According to the resolution, the level of gifts will be arranged based on the position, title and contribution of the individual, with a value of 1-3 million VND/person for each visit.
It is expected that each year Thua Thien Hue province will spend about 2.2 billion VND from the provincial budget to give gifts during Tet.
According to the People's Council of Thua Thien Hue province, in recent years, provincial leaders have organized meetings with former leaders of the Party, State, provincial leaders of all periods, intellectuals, journalists and outstanding individuals on the occasion of Lunar New Year.
However, the lack of documents regulating the regime and policies on Tet gift giving has caused difficulties for agencies, units and localities in the implementation process.
