According to Pham Dong Thuy, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen province, correct pronunciation of Vietnamese is fundamental to preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language, building a standard school environment, and improving the overall quality of education.
According to Mr. Thuy, surveys at educational institutions in the area show that confusion between L and N is common, especially at the preschool and primary school levels, affecting students' language skills, academic performance, and self-confidence.
To address this, the Department has issued a plan for the period 2025-2030 for all staff, teachers, and students. Specifically, in the 2025-2026 period, 80% of teachers and 50% of students are expected to significantly improve their pronunciation and spelling. By the 2027-2030 period, 100% of teachers will have standard pronunciation and 80% of students will no longer make mistakes when speaking or writing.
At the workshop, Dr. Luong Thi Hien, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi Pedagogical University, shared fundamental scientific knowledge, answered questions, and provided appropriate training methods for each educational level, helping teachers effectively apply them to their teaching practice.
