In implementing Decision 387/QD-TTg and Decision 677/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on promoting the lifelong learning movement in families, clans, communities, units and learning citizens in the period 2021 - 2030, Huong Hoa district has issued a plan and organized its widespread implementation throughout the district.
To date, the entire district has 17,528 families registered to participate in building the "Learning Family" model, of which 15,772 households have been recognized as achieving the title of "Learning Family," accounting for 72%; 55 clans have registered to build the "Learning Clan" model, of which 53 clans have been recognized as achieving the title of "Learning Clan," accounting for 96.36%.
The Dinh family in Khe Sanh town, Huong Hoa district, has over 60 households with nearly 300 people. More than 50 years ago, after the country was reunified, in September 1975, people from An Gia village, Trieu Do commune, Trieu Phong district, came to build a new economic zone here according to the policy of the Party and the State. After settling in their new place, the Dinh family of An Gia village continued to reclaim land and establish a new village, naming it Tan An Gia.
On that day, driven by the need to worship their ancestors and remember their roots, the Dinh family members in this area met and decided to build an ancestral temple in Khe Sanh town, Huong Hoa district. Over time, along with the development of the locality, the Dinh family community in Tan An Gia village has produced many highly educated individuals, including 2 PhDs, 11 Master's degrees, 15 Bachelor's degrees, and 18 grandchildren currently studying at university. Notably, none of the descendants in the family have dropped out of school, and 5 families have been awarded the title of "Family of Bachelors".
In order to make the family's scholarship and talent promotion movement more organized and effective, the Dinh family established a Family Scholarship Committee consisting of 5 members, and developed detailed and transparent operating regulations and expenditure rules for the scholarship fund. At the same time, the Dinh Family Scholarship Committee also assigned members to be responsible for the scholarship and talent promotion work of each branch of the family; and monitored the students' academic progress at school and at home.
Every year, before the start of the new school year, the clan's Education Promotion Committee organizes an awards ceremony for students who have achieved high academic results at all levels and those who have been admitted to universities and colleges. In addition, each year, the clan provides scholarships to six students from impoverished families to encourage them to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.
For the elderly members of the clan, the Clan's Education Promotion Committee regularly encourages everyone to actively study, participate in classes at the community learning center, and reminds families to abide by the policies, guidelines, and laws of the Party and the State to contribute to building "Learning Families" and "Learning Clans".
Over the years, the development of the "Learning Family" model in Huong Hoa district has yielded many clear results, positively impacting the building of happy, prosperous, progressive, and equal families. The percentage of families recognized as "Learning Families" in Huong Hoa district is increasing, not only concentrated in households in the towns of Khe Sanh and Lao Bao but also extending to remote villages and border areas.
Many families in the disadvantaged mountainous communes of Huong Hoa district have become exemplary families with university graduates. They have placed greater emphasis on their children's education and their own, aiming to improve their general knowledge and skills in applying science and technology to labor and production, contributing to poverty reduction and improving the quality of life.
To continue building exemplary "Learning Families" and "Learning Clans" models in the 2025-2030 period, Huong Hoa district has intensified its propaganda efforts to continuously raise the full and profound awareness of the people in the district about the role of families and clans in nurturing and educating future generations and the importance of building "Learning Families" and "Learning Clans" models.
Innovate the dissemination of information and propaganda regarding the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws in the spirit of "Speaking to members, listening to members, and guiding members in implementation," concretizing the criteria of the "Learning Family" and "Learning Clan" models to suit the characteristics and situation of each region, contributing to building a strong learning society.
Families and clans are encouraged to organize ceremonies to honor and reward children and grandchildren who have achieved academic success on anniversaries or family gatherings, in order to encourage, motivate, and spread the model of "Learning Family" and "Learning Clan".
Emphasis is placed on building families and clans that implement the "five no's": no children left uncared for; no children of preschool age left out of school; no children violating the law or engaging in social vices; no students repeating grades or dropping out; and no illiterate, vocational, or computer-illiterate individuals.
Strengthening the movement to ensure every citizen has responsibility towards their family and society, and the right to continuous, lifelong learning; taking advantage of every learning opportunity to become a good citizen, a digital citizen...
