Previously, according to a report from the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard, on October 28, in an area about 22 nautical miles south of Len Dao Island, Truong Sa Special Zone (Khanh Hoa Province), fishing boat BD 98387 TS with fisherman Dang Van Tan (born in 1972, residing in Hoai Nhon Dong, Gia Lai Province) fell into the sea and went missing.

Upon receiving the news, the Border Guard Command directed the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command to quickly coordinate with forces and ships operating near the area to urgently organize search and rescue, and at the same time report to the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee for guidance and handling.

The Office of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee requested the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center to notify maritime traffic and coordinate with relevant authorities and localities to mobilize vehicles and forces to participate in the search.

The Civil Defense Command of the provinces: Gia Lai, Dak Lak , Khanh Hoa; Border Guard General Staff directed the competent authorities to coordinate with the ship owner by all measures to mobilize ships operating near the area of ​​the victim to support the search.

The General Staff of the Navy and Vietnam Coast Guard informed the unit's vehicles operating near the area to prepare a plan to support the search for the missing person.

At the scene, there were 5 fishing boats operating 5-10 nautical miles from the area of ​​the accident and searching for the missing fishermen.

Up to now, the search work is still being actively deployed by the forces.
