The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just directed agencies, units, and aviation businesses to continue their efforts to ensure service quality.

According to the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, during the peak period of the 2025 Lunar New Year, especially in the days leading up to the holiday, passenger traffic at airports will increase significantly, putting great pressure on aviation infrastructure and passenger service quality.

Acknowledging the exceptional efforts of all aviation service providers in arranging and allocating resources to best serve passengers' air transport needs and ensure aviation security and safety, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam assesses that flight delays and cancellations are unavoidable during peak periods.

The on-time performance of Vietnamese airlines is closely linked to the operational systems at airports and significantly impacts the quality of passenger service.

To improve service quality, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requests Vietnamese airlines and ground handling companies to enhance the quality of flight schedule management, ensuring compliance with confirmed slots as per regulations, and minimizing delays and cancellations due to subjective reasons.

At the same time, representatives and service staff should be regularly present to assist and guide passengers at the check-in counters, airport security screening areas, and baggage claim areas, promptly resolving passenger inquiries and complaints, and maintaining security and order at the airport.

Airlines regularly coordinate with ground handling units to assess and forecast passenger volume in order to plan and proactively manage flight operations, as well as fulfill all obligations regarding non-refundable advance compensation and passenger services at the airport in the event of delays or cancellations.

The Vietnam Airports Corporation and the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation are responsible for allocating maximum equipment and resources during the next peak period, optimizing air traffic control capacity, especially at Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai International Airports.

Strengthen coordination with airlines in air traffic control and the rational and scientific allocation of parking areas to optimize time and increase operational capacity.

Airport authorities are required to strengthen inspections and supervision of the implementation of regulations regarding carriers' obligations in cases where passengers are denied boarding, flights are canceled, or flights are significantly delayed. They are also required to provide information and guidance to passengers traveling by air to ensure they adhere to their schedules.

The Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority also requested that leaders of agencies, units, and businesses pay attention to ensuring working conditions and policies for employees, and promptly identify and commend good people and good deeds.

At the same time, encourage, reward, and propose to the competent authorities to reward collectives and individuals who have innovative initiatives to improve work, resolve limitations, obstacles, and difficulties in their work, and achieve outstanding results in performing their assigned tasks.

At the same time, we must seriously address any signs of poor service attitudes and behavior that violate standards, cultural norms of conduct, internal regulations of agencies and enterprises, work procedures, and legal regulations; and resolutely ensure absolute security and safety.

In the four days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), air transport figures from Vietnam's three largest airports alone showed many positive results.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport recorded 3,900 takeoffs and landings, nearly 592,000 passengers, and nearly 5,800 tons of cargo (corresponding to a 9.7% increase in takeoffs and landings, a 12.0% increase in passengers, and a 1.7% increase in cargo compared to the same period in 2024).

Noi Bai International Airport recorded over 2,300 takeoffs and landings, approximately 385,000 passengers, and over 8,700 tons of cargo (corresponding to a 10.9% increase in takeoffs and landings, an 18.5% increase in passengers, and a 15.3% increase in cargo compared to the same period in 2024).

Da Nang International Airport recorded 988 takeoffs and landings, over 155,700 passengers and 217 tons of cargo (corresponding to a 4.8% increase in takeoffs and landings, a 14.7% increase in passengers and a 3.5% increase in cargo compared to the same period in 2024).
