Yen Khanh District Youth Union - The leading flag in the patriotic emulation movement of the youth

Imbued with Uncle Ho's teaching: "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation", in recent years, Yen Khanh District Youth Union has concretized the patriotic emulation movement into programs and volunteer activities for the community and deployed them regularly and continuously to all levels of the district's Youth Union. From these movements, an environment has been created for Yen Khanh's youth to devote their strength and intelligence, promoting the pioneering and pioneering role of union members and young people, most notably participating in the construction of new rural areas with many meaningful, practical and effective youth projects and tasks.

Walking on the road leading through Hamlet 5, Phuc Ha Village (Khanh Van Commune), our eyes were attracted by the surrounding walls meticulously painted into pictures of Vietnamese countryside, promoting the spirit of labor production or propagating the prevention of drugs and social evils. With bright colors, the murals have made the rural appearance here more lively.

Comrade Tong Xuan Cuong, Head of the Front Committee of Hamlet 5, said: The "Mural Road" project was carried out by the Youth Union members and youth of Khanh Van commune since December 2022, with a length of more than 700m. From old, mossy walls, the Youth Union members and youth have diligently cleaned and painted beautiful paintings. When the project was completed, it became a highlight of the hamlet, helping the rural appearance to become brighter. The people in the hamlet were very excited, wholeheartedly praising and proud of the young generation of the locality. The project also has an important meaning in contributing to completing the criteria for building a model residential area of the hamlet.

In Ha Gia village (Khanh Cu commune), for more than a year now, people's travel at night has been more convenient and safer thanks to the "Lighting up the countryside roads" project of the commune's Youth Union with more than 30 light bulbs stretching over 1 km. Comrade Vu Van Ba, Secretary of the Ha Gia village Party cell, said: Before, every time the sun set, our whole village was dark. People's travel was very inconvenient, along with the risk of not ensuring traffic safety and security. Since April 2022, the commune Youth Union has invested in and installed lights on a section of the village road, making the surrounding people very happy because travel is more convenient and security is also more guaranteed.

Moreover, the project "Lighting up the Countryside Roads" by the Youth Union members and youths has helped spread, and households on other roads have voluntarily contributed and installed street lights. Up to now, most of the roads in the village have been installed with lighting systems. In addition, the Youth Union members and youths have also supported some outdoor sports equipment for the village cultural house, helping Ha Gia village complete the criteria for building a model new rural residential area as early as 2022.

Comrade Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan, Deputy Secretary of Yen Khanh District Youth Union, said: Inheriting the tradition and patriotic emulation movement of previous generations of youth, with the spirit of "Three readiness", "Five volunteering", "Splitting Truong Son to save the country"... and remembering Uncle Ho's teachings on patriotic emulation, over the years, the Standing Committee of Yen Khanh District Youth Union has always identified the patriotic emulation movement as one of the important solutions contributing to improving the quality of Union activities and youth movements.

On the basis of closely following the resolutions of the Yen Khanh District Party Congress, the resolutions of the Youth Union Congresses at all levels and the close guidance of the Provincial Youth Union, the Standing Committee of the District Youth Union has developed programs and plans to organize emulation movements with specific tasks and targets. In particular, the emulation movements aim to carry out tasks in socio -economic development, especially the construction of new rural areas and advanced new rural areas of the district.

From 2018 to present, the youth of the whole district have installed and lit up 125 km of rural roads worth 2.5 billion VND; built 241 sports venues at cultural houses of villages, hamlets and streets worth over 3.5 billion VND; built nearly 40 "Mural Road" works worth over 1.2 billion VND; mobilized financial support to build 10 red scarf houses and charity houses worth 810 million VND.

In addition, the shock activities of socio-economic development, volunteering for community life have also been effectively implemented, activities of planting trees to create landscapes, environmental sanitation have been regularly implemented... actively contributing to the implementation of socio-economic goals and the program of building advanced new rural areas of Yen Khanh district.

With outstanding and comprehensive results, Yen Khanh District Youth Union was recognized by the Provincial Youth Union as the leading unit in Youth Union work and youth movement in 2022. At the same time, the unit was also honored as a typical advanced unit in the patriotic emulation movement of the province in 2022.
