Locals and tourists are delighted.
Mr. Dong Nhat Binh, Deputy Head of the Investment and Construction Project Management Board and Land Development Fund of Long Dat District, said that the district has selected three key projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country: the Monument Park and Memorial House of Heroic Martyr Vo Thi Sau; the Phuoc Hai coastal public beach park; and the Long Hai Town Planned Road No. 15 project (phase 2). To date, these three projects have been 100% completed, ensuring their inauguration according to the provincial and district plans on April 30th.
Visiting the Vo Thi Sau Heroine Memorial House after its upgrade and expansion was completed, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dinh, a resident of Dat Do town, said that previously the complex had 7 small houses. The grounds were also cramped, making it difficult to receive visiting delegations. In 2024, the project for the Vo Thi Sau Heroine Memorial House and Monument Park was implemented. Thanks to this, the memorial house grounds have been expanded, becoming more spacious, clean, and beautiful.
“We are very excited that the government is investing in expanding the grounds of the Monument Park and Memorial House of Heroic Martyr Vo Thi Sau. This is a project with spiritual significance, commemorating the contributions of her parents and the heroic martyr Vo Thi Sau; it is a meeting place for people and tourists to offer incense, pay respects, and enjoy recreation,” Mr. Dinh said.
Offering incense at the Monument Park and Memorial House of Heroine Vo Thi Sau, Ms. Truong Thi Thu Thuy from Dak Nong province said: “I was not only moved when learning about the images of the revolutionary activities and indomitable spirit of this female hero, but also impressed by the space here. The grounds are spacious, airy, solemn, and have many amenities.”
Meanwhile, the Phuoc Hai coastal public beach park is also an important project that has just been completed and put into use. In the afternoons, locals and tourists come to exercise, fly kites, play, and stroll along the beach, creating a lively atmosphere.
Mr. Tran Minh Ly, residing in Hai Trung Hamlet, Phuoc Hai Town, said: "Since the square was completed, the space has become clean, beautiful, and interesting with its cute animal models. Every morning and afternoon, many people and children come to exercise, fly kites, and play."
Creating space for tourism development.
The monument park and memorial house dedicated to Heroine Vo Thi Sau covers an area of 18,021 square meters with a total investment of 440 billion VND. The project commenced on June 4, 2024, and has now been completed. The complex is spacious and features many amenities, such as a ceremonial courtyard, rest areas, and a ceremonial hall. Sidewalks have also been renovated and new trees have been planted.
The Phuoc Hai coastal public beach park was built on an area of 8,194 square meters with a total investment of over 27.8 billion VND. The project features an eye-catching and vibrant design with a plaza, a seashell house, waiting areas, greenery, an exercise area, freshwater showers, and models of boats, children's games in the shape of a fishbone, snails, crabs, whales, dolphins, mushrooms, etc.
Meanwhile, the Long Hai Town Center's Planned Road No. 15 project (phase 2), which commenced in June 2023 with a total investment of 94.5 billion VND, has been put into use, contributing to the completion of transportation, urban, and tourism infrastructure for the town center.
According to Mr. Hong Nhu Vang, Vice Chairman of the Long Dat District People's Committee, in 2024 and 2025, the district will focus on commencing and inaugurating several key projects, including three projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam, the reunification of the country, and the liberation of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. These are key projects of significant importance to economic development, connecting technical infrastructure according to the plan, creating momentum for socio-economic development, and especially creating space for tourism development associated with historical sites and heritage tourism in the locality.
