The Indonesian National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) is collaborating with the German Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection on a program called “Solutions for Land and Marine Landscape Management in Indonesia” (Solusi) to prevent land degradation and loss of marine resources in Indonesia.
According to the Jakarta Post, the program is being piloted in Central Java, Bangka Belitung Islands and Central Sulawesi. Indonesia is a country with great biodiversity and many potential natural resources.
Among the challenges the country faces are land degradation and the decline of marine resources as well as the impacts of climate change. According to the leadership of Bappenas, the Solusi program will support the integration of land and marine management, promoting the green economy , environmental restoration, and sustainable development.
