According to a report from Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the attack caused "serious damage" to Building No. 1 of Kuwait International Airport. The attack also left "several people injured," who received medical attention.
Earlier, the US military said two Iranian missiles launched toward Kuwait either missed or broke apart mid-air, while three others launched toward Bahrain were intercepted. According to KUNA news agency, flights and air traffic in Kuwait were suspended following the attack.

The Bahraini military confirmed that its air defense system intercepted and destroyed three more missiles and "several" drones, while condemning Iran's attack on the region.
"Iran continues to pursue a systematic hostile approach through the brutal missile and drone attacks targeting civilian targets in Bahrain," the Iranian military command announced.
The announcement added that “all weapons and their units are at the highest level of readiness and defensive preparedness,” and warned people not to touch or approach any “strange or suspicious objects.”
At the same time, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that Iran launched ballistic missiles toward neighboring countries in the region, but all missed their targets. US forces also conducted an attack on Qeshm Island in response to Iran's attack, intercepting numerous Iranian ballistic missiles and drones.
Regional tensions have escalated since the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28. Tehran retaliated with attacks targeting Israel and US allies in the Gulf, and also blockaded the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic shipping lane for global oil exports.
In the latest action, US military forces used Hellfire missiles to attack the oil tanker Lexie, which was en route to an Iranian port without any cargo.
