Iran: Discussing uranium is pointless at this time.

Iran believes that discussing highly enriched uranium with the US at this time is pointless. Tehran prioritizes mediation efforts aimed at ending the current conflict.

According to the TASS news agency, the Iranian authorities have stated that discussions on the issue of highly enriched uranium during the current indirect negotiations with the United States will not yield concrete results. Speaking to reporters, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei emphasized that the two sides have attempted dialogue on this topic in the past, but failed due to serious differences.

Esmaeil Baghaei stated: "Regarding the issue of highly enriched uranium in Iran, we have made our position very clear. At this stage, if we want to discuss these issues, we usually won't achieve the desired results."

The diplomatic representative also criticized the US for undermining its negotiating position through unreasonable demands and hostile interference in Iran.

Amidst the complex negotiations, the ISNA news agency reported that Pakistan's army chief, Asim Munir, had arrived in Tehran as part of a mediation mission between Iran and the United States. Simultaneously, a Qatari delegation was also in the capital to consult with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

However, Baghaei confirmed that Pakistan remains the primary mediator in discussions with the United States.

When asked about the possibility of reaching an agreement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson acknowledged that the two countries were not yet close to signing a commitment to end the conflict. He stated, "We cannot yet say for certain whether we have reached a stage close to an agreement."

Instead, the main focus of the current negotiations is finding a solution to end the war. The flurry of visits from foreign delegations to Tehran is seen as a continuation of the positive diplomatic process. However, Iran insists that these visits do not mean that an agreement has been reached on the initial terms.
