Jun Pham sings Xam for the first time in the MV "Bat Tuyet Thao Thao"

The song has a Xam melody with the sounds of the erhu from the very first notes. “Bat Tuyet Thao Thao” is a continuation of “Son Thuy Khuc”, with the love story of Son Tinh – My Nuong – Thuy Tinh from Thuy Tinh’s perspective.

If in In "Son Thuy Khuc", the lyrics are relatively improvised with the use of ancient language, while in "Bat Tuyet Thao Thao", the lyrics have entered the parallel style, using the six-eight verse form with smooth rhyme, using more ancient words, especially introducing the pentatonic sounds "xang cong xe", "ho lieu"... This probably originates from the fact that Jun Pham is a person who loves reading, and one of his most read books is "Learning about Vietnamese Han-Nom".

Jun Pham also showed his careful research investment in Xam when he performed very characteristic accents, a detail that is not easy for a young male singer born and raised in the south like him.

Sharing in his first performance of the song at the BOF Showcase, Jun Pham said that he had cherished this song since he was still participating in the program. “The elder brother overcame thousands of obstacles”. However, at that time he did not have the ability to do it, because he was from the south and did not understand much about traditional northern music . “Luckily, Jun had the opportunity to participate in Nha Ca Lon with Tu Long, a person who always yearned for traditional culture, and cherished the desire to bring a Xam song to the final round. At that time, Jun loved Tu Long very much but could not do it, only Soobin had the ability to do it”.
