Striker Harry Kane contributed three goals and one assist as Bayern thrashed Bochum 7-0 in the fifth round of the Bundesliga.
Facing the bottom-placed team, the "Bavarian Lions" didn't miss the opportunity to show their strength. In the fourth minute, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting put them ahead after a quick counter-attack. The Cameroonian striker tapped the ball into an empty net after a through pass from Kingsley Coman, redeeming himself for a missed opportunity in the first minute.

Before they could recover from the early goal, Bochum conceded a second goal within nine minutes. This time, the visitors could only lament their bad luck, as Alphonso Davies' seemingly harmless dribbling inadvertently led the ball to Harry Kane's feet. The English striker didn't miss this gift, unleashing a decisive volley into the near corner.
Leading by two goals, Bayern played with even more flair. After a header that went over the bar early in the match, center-back Matthijs De Ligt showed just how dangerous he is when joining the attack. The Dutch international rose high to head home a goal from Joshua Kimmich's corner kick, extending the home side's lead. Recently, there have been rumors that De Ligt wants to leave Bayern to get more playing time. Immediately, Thomas Tuchel included him in the starting lineup and he scored.
Bochum's nightmare didn't end there. A defensive lapse led to them conceding another goal in the first half. This time, the scorer for Man City was Leroy Sane, a player completely overlooked by the visiting team's defense.

Bayern scored their fifth goal shortly after halftime. They were awarded a penalty after Ivan Ordets handled the ball. The visitors argued that Ordets did not handle the ball intentionally and that it bounced off his foot before touching his hand. However, the referee upheld the decision after consulting VAR. From the penalty spot, Kane deceived goalkeeper Manuel Riemann to score the second goal.
In the remaining time, taking advantage of their opponents' attacking runs, Bayern scored two more goals and kept a clean sheet. The sixth goal, scored by young striker Mathys Tel, came after a pass from a visiting player to Kane just outside the penalty area. Before the final whistle, Kane completed his hat-trick with a close-range tap-in.
This was Kane's first hat-trick since joining Bayern, and also his fourth consecutive game scoring. The 30-year-old striker has scored seven times in five Bundesliga rounds, placing him second in the top scorer race behind Serhou Guirassy (Stuttgart).
Next week, Bayern will play their first-round German Cup match at the Preuben Munster stadium and then face RB Leipzig.
