The Bayern machine crushes every opponent.

Throughout the entire history of Europe's top five leagues, no team has started a season with a perfect record of 15 wins across all competitions like Bayern Munich currently have. No matter the circumstances, Bayern always ends up winning!

It couldn't have been more glorious!

The previous record of 13 consecutive wins since the start of the season, set by AC Milan in the 1992-1993 season, has long been broken. Last weekend, Bayern extended their record to 15. But coach Vincent Kompany still wasn't satisfied, declaring: "We will continue to try; 15 consecutive wins is not enough."

Who did Bayern beat in the last round, and how did they win? The answer is Bayer Leverkusen – the 2024 Bundesliga champions. This is an opponent Bayern haven't beaten in their last five Bundesliga encounters. Even more surprisingly, Bayern rotated their squad, fielding a "B team" due to preparations for their crucial Champions League clash against reigning champions PSG this week. Yet, Bayern still managed to secure a 3-0 victory in the first half!

In total, Bayern have won all 9 Bundesliga matches, 3 Champions League matches, 2 German Cup matches, and the German Super Cup this season. In the two main competitions, Bundesliga and Champions League, Bayern have scored 45 goals and conceded only 6 in 12 matches – averaging nearly 4 goals per game. Kompany's team have always been the first to score in all 12 of those matches.

Bayern's winning streak is often underestimated based on the argument that the Bundesliga isn't a particularly tough league, with most opponents being of a lower caliber than Bayern. However, in the last nine rounds, Bayern has defeated all three remaining Bundesliga representatives in the Champions League: Borussia Dortmund, Leverkusen, and Eintracht Frankfurt. Both victories against Leverkusen and Frankfurt were 3-0. Furthermore, the Bundesliga boasts another strong team that has regularly participated in the Champions League in recent seasons: RB Leipzig, currently second in their group. Bayern defeated them 6-0 in the first round.

Still need further verification of Bayern's strength? Neutral observers won't have to wait long, as Kompany's team will visit PSG this midweek, followed by another away match against Arsenal.

K COMPANY IS ASSERTING ITSSELF

The Bundesliga title race is practically a done deal. But coach Kompany himself is considered a major weakness for Bayern in the Champions League race. For the past four seasons, the Champions League title has always gone to veteran coaches who had won it before (Luis Enrique with PSG, Pep Guardiola with Man. City, Carlo Ancelotti twice with Real Madrid).

When coaches Thomas Tuchel and Juergen Klopp led Chelsea (in 2021) or Liverpool (in 2019) to the championship, they already had experience managing in the final. In short, in the last 9 seasons, the championship has gone to the team of the coach who had won or managed the final of this competition 8 times.

Coach Kompany has never played in a Champions League final, so does that mean he lacks experience in the world's top club competition? Of course, this is just a point of reference. He has Bayern Munich at his disposal – and that alone is more than enough. The only exception in the aforementioned nine seasons – winning the Champions League with a head coach who had never played in a final before – was Bayern in 2020, coached by Hansi Flick!

This season, Bayern's success has been entirely shaped by coach Kompany, rather than a lavish spending spree to build a strong squad. They failed in their attempts to sign Florian Wirtz (to Liverpool) and Nick Woltermade (to Newcastle). Stars like Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala are sidelined with long-term injuries. There are only two notable new faces, mostly those who no longer have a place at other clubs: Nico Jackson (on loan from Chelsea) and Luis Diaz (bought from Liverpool).

But Kompany's Bayern always soars, even winning convincingly regardless of the lineup. Harry Kane scores consistently (22 goals in 14 matches). Lennart Karl (17 years old) and Tom Bischof (20 years old) are top young stars in Europe. Veteran Manuel Neuer is so outstanding that people are trying to persuade him to return to the German national team. Thus, Bayern Munich is a winning machine.
