This is one of the components of the Project "Establishing the Vietnam-Korea Cooperation Center on Smart Cities and Construction Technology" funded by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea for the Ministry of Construction .
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training course on smart cities, Mr. Dinh Duc Huu, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, said: The project "Establishing the Vietnam-Korea Cooperation Center on Smart Cities and Construction Technology" funded by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea for the Ministry of Construction aims to establish a professional Vietnam-Korea cooperation center to promote research and training on smart cities and advanced construction technology, contributing to the development of smart cities in general, gradually concretizing Vietnam's policies and guidelines in promoting sustainable smart city development until 2030 and strengthening the relationship between the two governments of Vietnam and Korea as well as between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea.
The project has 4 components, including the component “Capacity building, technology exchange and training cooperation on smart cities”. Ninh Binh is 1 of 3 localities in the Northern region selected by the Project to implement this training program in 2024.
The training course helps to equip students with basic and systematic contents related to smart urban overview such as: System of legal documents, policies, institutions; overview, approach; content of smart urban development project; sustainable smart urban planning; interconnected urban database based on geographic information system and digital transformation; development resources; infrastructure, smart urban utility services.
In addition, it helps the team of cadres, civil servants, and public employees of the Construction sector, related departments and sectors, districts, cities; communes and wards (belonging to Ninh Binh city, Tam Diep and Hoa Lu district) in implementing the management of planning; architecture and urban areas; construction; construction quality; housing management, real estate market and construction order.
Participating in the training course, officials and civil servants working in construction management in the province had the opportunity to exchange and discuss with the lecturers of the Academy of Construction and Urban Management - Ministry of Construction about the local difficulties, especially for Ninh Binh province, aiming to become a centrally-run city by 2035 with the characteristics of a millennium heritage city and a creative city. Thereby contributing to improving the capacity of the team implementing construction management and urban development in the new period.
